Netflix releases trailer for Laura Dern and Liam Hemsworth’s rom-com

Netflix has released a sneak peek at their upcoming romantic comedy titled “Lonely Planet“. This movie features the talented duo, Laura Dern and Liam Hemsworth in leading roles.
In this version, the movie is penned and helmed by Emmy and Academy Award nominee Susannah Grant. The lead role is played by Dern as Katherine, an introverted author, who travels to a distinguished writing sanctuary in Morocco, with aspirations of conquering her creative drought.
During her stay, Katherine encounters a young fellow named Owen (Hemsworth), and their friendship soon transforms into a captivating, love story that brings significant changes to both their lives.
In the trailer, it becomes clear that Chris Hemsworth’s character is in a relationship with Diana Silvers from Booksmart. However, the sparks between him and Katherine are undeniable, and it doesn’t take much time for their relationship to intensify passionately.
The upcoming film, scheduled for October 11, features Ben Youcef known from “Hawaii Five-0”, Bellina Logan recognized in “Big Little Lies”, Gustav Dyekjær Giese prominent in “The Quiet Ones”, and Dillon Lane acclaimed in “The Guilty”.
Speaking with Tudum, Dern explained that what first attracted her to the movie was the examination of identity and personal value within relationships, particularly in an environment as intellectually vibrant as the literary world.
She added: “What fascinated me was the relationship between the young man and the veteran author. It’s not merely a romantic connection; it’s about discovering someone who genuinely perceives and comprehends you, an aspect that touches on our universal and familiar human experiences.
In the meantime, Hemsworth spoke highly of Dern, saying to the magazine, “Acting alongside Laura Dern was truly an honor.
“She has this remarkable talent for drawing you in, making every moment feel intimate and real.”
In other news, Laura Dern will soon step back into her character, Renata Klein, for the eagerly awaited third season of Big Little Lies. Meanwhile, Chris Hemsworth is preparing to assume the role of Geralt of Rivia from Henry Cavill in the last two seasons of The Witcher series.
Lonely Planet is set to arrive on Netflix on October 11.
