Netflix Omits 10 Major Characters in Stranger Things 5 Volume 2 Promo

Netflix has revealed posters for the second part of Stranger Things Season 5, but some familiar faces are noticeably absent, sparking fan theories about who will survive. This final volume promises to wrap up major plot lines and explain what happened to the characters, especially after the surprising discovery of Will Byers’ abilities. While Eleven and Will remain central, other key characters expected to play a role include Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Max, and surprisingly, Holly Wheeler, who was taken by Vecna in the first part of the season.

As a huge Stranger Things fan, I was so excited to see Netflix finally drop the character posters for the second part of Season 5! They revealed awesome new looks at nine of our favorite characters – Eleven, Will, Mike, Lucas, Dustin, Max, Nancy, Steve, and Jonathan. You can check out the amazing posters below – I’ve been staring at them ever since!

The initial posters focused on the main heroes, but several important characters were left out, including Joyce Byers, Jim Hopper, and the main villain, Vecna. Vecna’s appearance has also been updated for the final season of Stranger Things.

Every Major Character Missing in Stranger Things 5 Volume 2 Posters

Joyce

As a huge fan of ‘Stranger Things,’ I’ve always been drawn to Joyce Byers – she’s really the heart of that Hawkins group, and a fiercely protective mom to Will and Jonathan. In the first part of the latest season, she’s completely focused on rescuing the kids after they get taken by Vecna, teaming up with Lucas, Robin, Mike, and Murray. They fight hard, but things go sideways with the Demogorgon showing up and Vecna making his move. But the biggest shock for Joyce, and for me as a viewer, was discovering Will has some new abilities right at the end of that volume. It definitely left me wanting more!

The next volume of the story will likely delve deeper into the consequences of Will’s revelation, with Joyce playing a key role in helping him cope with his emerging abilities and the challenges they bring.

Hopper

As a huge Stranger Things fan, I was on the edge of my seat watching Hopper nearly give his life for Eleven! But honestly, what they revealed was even more heartbreaking – they’ve been holding El’s sister, Kay, captive this whole time. I’m predicting Volume 2 will center around Hopper and Eleven teaming up to rescue Kay from wherever the military is keeping her. Once they do that, I think they’ll finally connect with the rest of the Hawkins gang and start figuring out a real strategy to take down Vecna. It’s going to be intense!

Robin

In the first part of the season, Robin proved to be a popular radio voice even while stuck in Hawkins, and she unexpectedly became friends with Will. The second part of the season will likely show more of their connection, especially since Robin’s encouragement helped Will unlock new powers.

Vecna

The season finale of Stranger Things made it obvious that Vecna is dangerous and intends to cause harm – he dramatically announced his return by killing a whole group of soldiers. Now, it’s unclear if Vecna knows about Will’s emerging abilities, and this will likely be a central focus in the second part of the season as Will and Vecna prepare for a final confrontation.

As a huge fan of the show, it’s terrifying to realize Vecna actually did manage to grab those twelve kids from Hawkins, beyond just targeting Will. It definitely feels like that was just the beginning, and I’m bracing myself to see how far he’ll go to remake the world in his twisted image. I’m really curious – and a little scared – to see where they take that storyline next.

Derek

Initially, Derek was a bully towards Holly Wheeler in the first volume of the story. However, he began to show heroic qualities after assisting the group in getting the children safely away from the military base. Having already witnessed the terrifying nature of the Upside Down, it’s likely Derek will continue to support Joyce and the others in their fight to finally defeat Vecna.

Erica

Erica Sinclair, Lucas’s sister, played a small but memorable part in the first part of the story, assisting the group in finding and distracting the Turnbrow family, as Derek was a potential Vecna victim. Despite her limited screen time, Erica still managed to stand out. The upcoming second part promises a more significant role for her, as Vecna’s threat now impacts everyone, requiring all the heroes to work together.

Murray

Murray, a former investigative journalist, helped the Hawkins group get weapons and supplies in the first part of the story. In the second part, he’s expected to continue providing those supplies, and he might also directly help the group fight the creatures from the Upside Down.

Dr. Kay

The latest trailer for Stranger Things revealed what happened to Dr. Kay after she was knocked unconscious by Hopper at the end of Volume 1 – she survives!

The first volume revealed the military is interested in Eleven, and it seems they have bad intentions. Meanwhile, Kay survived her fight with Hopper and might lead an effort to search the Upside Down. This could involve capturing Eleven, Kay, and Hopper as they try to escape the unfolding chaos.

Karen

In the first part of Stranger Things Season 5, Karen Wheeler was seriously hurt when she encountered a Demogorgon while attempting to rescue her daughter. She might still be recovering when the second part of the season begins, after everything she went through.

Holly

Nell Fisher’s character, Holly Wheeler, became a fan favorite in the first part of Stranger Things Season 5. She’s set to be crucial in the attempt to rescue Max from within Vecna’s mental world. However, Holly herself is in serious trouble. Will spotted her trapped inside a tower-like structure in the Upside Down, suggesting Vecna is trying to manipulate and control her.

Holly might have an opportunity to break free in Volume 2, but it will be incredibly difficult, considering Vecna is determined to achieve his goals no matter the cost.
