Netflix is removing Jim Carrey’s best movie this month

Netflix is set to remove Jim Carrey’s (arguably) best movie later this month.

Originally released in 2004, “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” tells the story of ex-lovers opting for a process that wipes away their memories of each other.

The film directed by Michel Gondry, which is currently available on the service in the UK and Ireland, will no longer be accessible starting from March 31. Therefore, this could be an ideal moment for you to watch it or even revisit it before it disappears.

In addition to “The Truman Show,” “Eternal Sunshine” is often hailed as Jim Carrey’s finest cinematic work. The film garnered the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, penned by Charlie Kaufman, while Kate Winslet received a nomination for Best Actress.

In 2017, Winslet expressed her desire to return to the character of Clementine Kruczynski at some point in the future.

She expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “I’d really enjoy revisiting [Clementine] since it was such a delightful experience.” Additionally, she mentioned the variety of hair color options, and posed an intriguing question: “Don’t you think it would be fascinating to see Clementine as a 42-year-old woman?” This was shared during the New York Film Festival.

I’m quite curious about what became of her. It intrigues me to imagine a scenario where she decided to embrace her body fully, letting go of any concerns or inhibitions, and indulging in all the things that brought her joy and happiness.

“And more hair colours and more crazy clothes! I just think that could’ve been fun.”

In a recent turn of events, Carrey has once again taken on the character of Dr Robotnik in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, marking it as the highest-earning film in the video game series franchise. It’s been officially announced that a follow-up is scheduled for release in 2027.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is available to stream on Netflix until March 31.
