American Psycho is leaving Netflix.
The horror-comedy will be leaving the streaming platform this coming Saturday, 9th August. If you want to watch it, now would be a great time to tune in and satisfy your craving!
Under the guidance of director Mary Harron, the renowned film version of Bret Easton Ellis’s hit novel unfolds. This narrative centers around the captivating character of Patrick Bateman, a 27-year-old investment banker who also happens to be a ruthless serial killer, portrayed by Christian Bale.
As a gaming enthusiast, much like my fellow gamers, I often find myself battling with selfish tendencies and an inflated ego. Yet, when the controller is down and real life takes over, I slip into a different persona – one that thrives on dark deeds and twisted pleasures. The line between game and reality becomes blurred as I carry out my sinister actions in the world outside the screen.
In the end, you won’t be any more certain than the untrustworthy storyteller Bateman about the true events that unfolded.

American Psycho, as Time Out put it, offers a strikingly disturbing critique of 1980s yuppie lifestyle, highlighting the potential perils of a culture fixated on material wealth and image. This gripping tale delivers shocking violence, black humor in abundance, and lines that will stick with you for a long time.
The film has earned an impressive 85% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, yet its graphic violence sparkes differing opinions among fans. Some spectators deemed it as “grim” and “unsettling“, although this movie is strongly considered a potential frontrunner for the most impactful and disputed film of the 2000s.
According to an Associated Press critique, Bale’s portrayal was so convincing that it felt like we were delving into his progressively disturbed psyche.
As I played this game, it was clear that the character Bale had a striking appearance that kept me hooked. However, there wasn’t much depth or substance to him. Yet, he managed to provide just enough dark humor during the murders to make me want to stick around for more.

Bale’s standout, eerie acting is generally regarded as the turning point of his career, opening doors to memorable characters in The Prestige, The Machinist, and the Batman trilogy.
Bale’s captivating yet unnerving portrayal marked a significant milestone in his acting journey, leading him to play iconic roles in The Prestige, The Machinist, and the Batman trilogy.
Accompanying Bale is an illustrious group of actors that includes Willem Dafoe, Jared Leto, and Reese Witherspoon.
Great news for UK movie enthusiasts! Although it’s departing from Netflix, the movie “American Psycho” can still be streamed for free on ITVX.
