Netflix has just added a near-perfect 2024 movie that you won’t have seen
Netflix has just added a highly-acclaimed movie from 2024 that you very likely haven’t seen before.
As a passionate movie enthusiast, I can’t help but share my excitement about a film that may have slipped under many radars in the UK, but was an absolute sensation in its homeland, Thailand. The movie, titled “How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies” in English-speaking regions, is more commonly known as “Lahn Mah” there. Whether you’re a fan of heartwarming stories or action-packed adventures, this film is definitely worth checking out!
In simpler terms, the movie is about a young fellow discovering that his grandmother is gravely ill. To ensure he inherits a substantial part of her estate, he decides to take care of her.

To put it another way, it appears that other relatives are trying to get her wealth, which creates a barrier between us as I struggle to bond with my sharp-tongued grandmother.
The movie gained widespread popularity on social platforms as people posted clips of them tearfully watching it, and it also earned praise from critics. With an impressive 98% positive score based on 47 professional reviews, the film is nearly universally acclaimed on Rotten Tomatoes.
Here are what some of the reviews said at the time:
The Guardian
As a passionate viewer, I must confess that this movie tugs at my heartstrings like no other. It skillfully employs poignant piano melodies in its soundtrack to guide us through our emotional journey, reminding us when it’s time to feel the weight of sorrow. Yet, what sets it apart is its thought-provoking exploration of intergenerational wealth – a theme that resonates deeply and offers food for thought.
The Hollywood Reporter
Perhaps the most striking aspect is how the screenplay by Thodsapon Thiptinnakorn and [Pat] Boonnitipat skillfully portrays a family dynamic that’s intricate, flawed yet rooted in a deep sense of intergenerational responsibility. Despite individual interests clouding the picture at times, this duty is ultimately underpinned by genuine affection.

Putthipong Assaratanakul skillfully switches your feelings from intense dislike to deep compassion in an instant. However, it is Usha Seamkhum who leaves you questioning, “Why haven’t I seen more of you?” (This version aims to convey the original sentiment while making it more natural and engaging for the reader.)
Seamkhum makes her debut on IMDb with an exceptional performance, displaying a natural authenticity that’s often challenging for even the most accomplished Oscar winners to achieve.
Meanwhile, here’s some exciting Netflix update: The upcoming thriller titled “iHostage” will be released soon, and production for the third installment of “Enola Holmes“, titled simply as “Enola Holmes 3”, has already commenced.
David Fincher has also just been announced as director of a Quentin Tarantino sequel.
You can now stream “Making Millions Before Grandma Leaves Us” on Netflix, both in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
