Netflix has set a release date for folklore monster horror sequel Troll 2.
In 2022, the highly popular Norwegian film, which garnered an impressive 103 million views and holds the title as the streamer’s most-watched non-English movie, made its premiere on the platform. This captivating tale centers around a collective of individuals banding together to confront a mysterious creature.
Now, a second movie is on the way, set to roll onto Netflix on 1 December.
In the upcoming sequel, set in snowy landscapes, director Roar Uthaug (known for his work on “Tomb Raider”) will rejoin forces with lead actress Ine Marie Wilmann playing Nora Tidemann, Kim Falck portraying Andreas Isaksen, and Mads Sjøgård Pettersen taking on the role of Captain Kristoffer Holm.
In the forthcoming escapade, the group is bolstered by the arrival of Marion, portrayed by Sara Khorami. They will soon find themselves facing a dreadful peril, embodied as a freshly introduced troll.

Uthaug expressed great joy in a statement, saying that people worldwide connected more deeply with the initial ‘Troll’ movie than we ever anticipated.
In the next installment, our goal is to reach great heights – broadening the narrative, enriching the tale, and crafting an epic troll-scale event that will leave audiences astounded. I’m incredibly excited for fans to delve into the thrilling journey we have prepared.

Wilmann remarked that diving into the Troll adventure was an incredibly enjoyable experience the first time, and we were utterly astonished by its worldwide popularity.
With immense admiration and anticipation, I’ve jumped headfirst into crafting the sequel. I have every faith that fans will relish even more of what they loved about the original. Making Troll 2 was an absolute blast, and we can’t wait to share our new creation with everyone!
In the making of the next installment, Troll 2, is the talented duo, Espen Horn and Kristian Strand Sinkerud. They assure us that this new movie will be superior in quality, larger in scale, funnier, and more thrilling than its predecessor.
The follow-up is written by Espen Aukan, from a story by Aukan and director Uthaug.
Beginning December 1st, you’ll be able to stream Troll 2 on Netflix. Currently, you can find its predecessor, Troll, streaming on the same platform.
Here it goes: Digital Spy’s debut print magazine has arrived! Grab a copy of “British Comedy Legends” at your local newsagent or online for only £3.99. Enjoy the laughter!
