Netflix fans go WILD as major pop star announces Christmas special with musical guests

As a lifelong enthusiast of all things Christmas and a dedicated follower of pop culture, I am absolutely thrilled about Netflix’s latest announcement! Sabrina Carpenter, who has been on an impressive roll with her album Short n’ Sweet and Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, is set to host her very own Netflix special, A Nonsense Christmas.

Netflix has tapped a new Queen of Christmas to captivate audiences this holiday season.

On Thursday, it was revealed that Sabrina Carpenter is set to host a unique Netflix special called “A Nonsense Christmas.” This special will include surprise musical guests, performances from her holiday EP “Fruitcake,” popular holiday tunes, comedic appearances, and unanticipated duets.

25-year-old pop sensation, riding high after touring with Taylor Swift and debuting her hit album Short n’ Sweet, announced the update playfully on her Instagram page via a mischievous video.

In her announcement video, she slowly approaches the camera wearing a sparkly Santa bodysuit and black, fur-trimmed boots.

Is there someone else here for Christmas?” she says, flashing a smile that seems to hint at Mariah Carey, a figure who’s almost become a symbol of Christmas during the past 30 years.

She cheekily captioned the post: ‘This is really gonna jingle your bells.’

In conversation with Netflix’s Tudum, Carpenter expressed her excitement about the project, noting that holidays hold a particular significance and charm for her.

She expressed her eagerness to contribute her unique blend of music and humor to a traditional holiday variety program, aiming to create a performance that truly reflects her personality.

The special is produced by OBB Pictures and At Last Productions.

The carpenter is also part of the team serving as executive producers, joining Michael D. Ratner, Scott Ratner, Simone Spira, Kfir Goldberg, Bill Perlman, and Janelle Lopez Genzink in this role.

Currently, San Wrench will take on the director role, while Nikki Boella has been appointed as the series’ head writer or executive producer.

According to Ratner, Sabrina’s aim to revolutionize the traditional holiday special has been apparent from the start. At Our Blue Brain (OBB), we collaborate with extraordinary artists worldwide to reinvent convention, and we are thrilled with the efforts of our entire team.

Countdown’s on! This Friday at 6 PM PST/ 9 PM EST, I can’t wait to lose myself in the whimsical world of “A Nonsense Christmas” starring my beloved Sabrina Carpenter, only on Netflix!

Under the post, her fans reacted with shock, with many calling her their ‘Christmas angel.’

‘OMFG YES!!! A new bombshell has entered the Christmas villa!’ one wrote.

Another commented: ‘Sabrina Carpenter is ruling the world.’

Some, however, speculated if she subtly shaded Carey in the post.

‘Is this a Mariah Carey diss??’ one fan asked.

‘Oh I know Mariah is shaking!!!!!’ another mused.

One X user scoffed: ‘She has one good year and now thinks she’s Mariah Carey.’

In November last year, Carpenter unveiled her Christmas album titled “Fruitcake.” This release is filled to the brim with Christmas-related puns, suggestive verses, and subtle sexual references.

Although Carpenter has her own Christmas special scheduled for this year, Carey is launching a nationwide Christmas tour starting on November 6th.
