Netflix fans convinced Selena Gomez made a ‘crucial mistake’ in Emilia Perez scene

As a passionate observer of the entertainment industry, I must say that the star-studded event was nothing short of captivating! The diversity and uniqueness of each individual’s style and personality on display made it an absolute treat for the eyes.

Viewers of Netflix believe that Selena Gomez may have committed a significant error in a particular scene from the movie Emilia Perez.

In a recent filming session, I found myself at the center of some online discussions among cinephiles, as they noticed that I seemed to be making direct eye contact with the camera during our shoot.

On platform X, a video featuring Gomez was posted. In this video, she can be seen engaging in a passionate phone conversation while looking directly into the camera. Fans have labeled her gaze as a potentially significant blunder.

Oh dear! A fan commented that Selena Gomez seemed to break the rules of acting when she looked straight into the camera during Emilia Perez’s production.

‘Guess she broke the fourth wall a bit,’ another added.  

Gosh, could that really be how it’s intended? It feels like a mind-blowing explosion of sensations, almost too much to process!

‘This might be the worst acting performance of the year omg,’ someone else chimed in.

Others also took issue with the third generation American-Mexican star’s Spanish, writing, ‘Her Spanish is god awful.’ 

The comments continued, with one person writing ‘Worst acting ever.’ 

On the other hand, some critics considered that Selena’s gaze into the camera could have been a deliberate artistic decision.

‘Is Selena intentionally interacting with us, the audience, to add complexity to her character? That could be what she’s doing when she seems to break the boundary between the screen and reality.’

‘It’s very intentional and happens a lot during the movie.’ 

It appears that the scene was intentionally kept as is in the final edit, possibly because there were enough edits and camera angles that another shot wasn’t necessary. This is just my assumption, since I haven’t seen the context myself, but given my experience with editing, it seems like a deliberate choice.

On the weekend, Gomez graced the second annual Latinas in Hollywood event hosted by Netflix and Elle with a fashionable presence on Saturday evening.

The celebrity, fresh off a scarce commentary about Wizards of Waverly Place, exuded elegance while donning a sleek, black trench coat featuring an oversized fur-trimmed neckline.

The style enthusiast wrapped a belt matching the coat’s color scheme around her midriff and completed the look with sleek, black, leather boots with pointed toes.

As I gracefully entered the room, I couldn’t help but feel confident, my glossy, chic bob cut with a neat center part and subtly volumized ends catching everyone’s attention, thanks to its radiant shine and timeless style.

Each year’s celebration showcased Gomez’s latest movie, featuring alongside it Zoe Saldana, aged 46, and Karla Sofia Gascón, who is 52 years old.

The trio landed one of several covers for Elle magazine’s latest issue, Women in Hollywood.

In the Spanish-language film that includes music, Zoe assumes the character of Rita, whereas Selena acts as Jessi Del Monte.
