Netflix confirms Twilight animated series is in development
As a gamer who’s been through his fair share of supernatural sagas, I must admit that the news of a new animated series based on the Twilight franchise has stirred a mix of nostalgia and anticipation within me. It’s been over a decade since Bella and Edward’s star-crossed romance captivated our hearts, and the prospect of revisiting their tale from Edward’s perspective is intriguing.
It’s been revealed that Netflix is working on a fresh animated series based on the popular “Twilight” vampire series, which features sparkling characters
2 years have passed since the conclusion of the romantic saga between Bella and Edward, as depicted in the last film titled “Breaking Dawn Part 2“
As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but share my excitement about the upcoming animated series titled “Midnight Sun.” This captivating production promises to reimagine Bella and Edward’s tale from Edward’s point of view. It is an adaptation of the 2020 book bearing the same name, penned by none other than Stephenie Meyer, the brilliant mind behind the Twilight saga
The big news was confirmed via Netflix’s Twitter/X today (September 4).
Meyer and her producing partner, Meghan Hibbett, will jointly serve as executive producers on the upcoming series. Additionally, Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen from Temple Hill Entertainment, along with Erik Feig and Samie Kim Falvey of Picturestart, will also take up executive producer roles
In the upcoming TV series, “Midnight Sun,” Sinead Daly – known for her work on shows like “The Walking Dead: World Beyond,” “Tell Me Lies,” “Raised by Wolves,” and “The Get Down” – will be the primary writer. Additionally, she’ll assume the role of executive producer in this project as well
Last year, it was revealed the first film in the multi-billion franchise almost looked completely different, as we nearly saw a totally different Edward.
In Twilight, Robert Pattinson portrayed Edward, with Kristen Stewart playing Bella. However, it took some time for people to fully accept Robert as the charming vampire, according to director Catherine Hardwicke
Following her encounter with Harwdicke, Pattinson (described as having a “dark fringe haircut” and being “not in great physical condition”) proceeded to an audition arranged by the distributor, Summit Entertainment. The executives expressed reservations about the movie’s director regarding Pattinson’s suitability for the role
On the Watchalong podcast for the 15th anniversary of the movie, Hardwicke was asked if he could help improve the appearance of a certain actor. He replied, “Absolutely, I can do that! Have you seen his strong cheekbones? We’re planning to revamp his hairstyle, working on his physique, and he’ll be looking absolutely stunning!”
Eventually, Robert Pattinson managed to secure the part with persuasion, making him the on-screen vampire we now know; the tale of cinematic vampires unfolded from thereon
Midnight Sun will stream on Netflix.
