Netflix confirms Squid Game season 3 release date with first look

Netflix has announced Squid Game season three’s release date.

At its industry gathering, Netflix announced that the last season of the show will premiere on June 27th, 2025.

In brief, the third and concluding season of the series Squid Game focuses on Gi-hun as he grapples with the loss of his friend within the game and succumbs to despair at the hands of The Front Man, who concealed his true identity in order to penetrate the game’s depths.

As Gi-hun presses on towards achieving his objective of ending the game, The Front Man devises another strategy. Each decision made by the remaining players could result in more severe outcomes with every subsequent turn.

Initially-released images came with the announcement of the new date, and they depict a handcuffed Gi-hun who is seen facing consequences for his unsuccessful uprising.

The selection of pictures also teases more devastating losses for the Squid Game players.

The third episode is set to premiere following the phenomenal achievement of the second season, which surpassed other television shows on Netflix’s viewership charts in 92 different countries.

By New Year’s Eve, Netflix disclosed that season two of the series had garnered a staggering 68 million views, making it their seventh-most popular non-English language program, and setting a record for the highest number of views during a show’s first week in the platform’s history.

In just its initial eleven days, the gripping South Korean series broke yet another record with an impressive 126.2 million views, making it the most-watched Netflix series during that timeframe.

Although the gap between seasons two and three was significantly smaller compared to the time between the first and second, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk expected that fans might still feel unsatisfied by the short interim period.

Speaking to Digital Spy, the showrunner expressed that viewers might feel quite disappointed when they finish season two, as they’ll likely exclaim, “How could you do this to us? We need season three right away!
