Netflix & Chills 2024 lineup leads with 26 scary titles, including new Unsolved Mysteries
As a die-hard horror enthusiast who’s seen more slasher flicks than I care to count (or remember), let me tell you, October is shaping up to be quite a chilling month! The teen slasher “Time Cut” looks particularly intriguing, with its time travel twist and an impressive cast of Netflix alums.
One thing Netflix understands is that while Halloween might not be until October 31, no one really waits that long to start celebrating the best annual holiday. That’s why they’re kicking off Netflix & Chills early, with many titles coming to the streaming service this month!
For quite some time, Netflix has been offering its festive “Netflix & Chills” selection, but unfortunately, it took a break last year due to some work disruptions. However, it seems that the 2024 lineup promises to compensate for this gap with exciting developments such as new episodes of “Unsolved Mysteries,” special Stranger Things events at Six Flags Fright Fests across the US, and the premiere of numerous international films and series.
The broadcaster is also set to incorporate some classic horror films such as last year’s “Evil Dead Rise,” “Halloween,” and “It: Chapter 2” into the mix, ensuring a delightful blend of old and new content for those preparing for marathon viewing sessions. Stay tuned to discover all that this year’s Netflix & Chills has in store!
Unsolved Mysteries, Vol 5 (Oct. 2)
As a thrilled enthusiast, I’m excited to share that the beloved series is back with a fresh batch of four episodes! This time around, we delve into mysterious disappearances, intriguing UFO phenomena, and inexplicable deaths. The entire volume will be available simultaneously for your viewing pleasure. So, grab some popcorn and get ready to stream Volume 4!
It’s What’s Inside (Oct. 4)
Filmmaker Greg Jardin presents an exhilarating new movie centered around a pre-wedding celebration that spirals into a prolonged nightmare when an old acquaintance arrives with a puzzling suitcase and a peculiar game, resurfacing hidden past conflicts and buried secrets. This movie generated positive reactions at its Sundance debut earlier in the year, making it one of the most eagerly awaited Netflix releases for 2021.
Woman of the Hour (Oct. 18)
Drawing inspiration from the actual events surrounding American serial killer Rodney Alcala, infamously known as the Dating Game Killer, Woman of the Hour represents the directorial debut of actress Anna Kendrick. This film narrates the tale of an actress in the 1970s who unknowingly picks Rodney while participating on a popular reality show called The Dating Game, having no idea that he is a ruthless murderer.
Don’t Move (Oct. 25)
In this gripping suspense film, Kelsey Asbille and Finn Wittrock take on leading roles. The story revolves around a woman who deliberately ventures into a remote forest, only to be injected with a paralyzing substance by an unknown individual. Consequently, she finds herself in a desperate struggle for survival as her body gradually ceases functioning.
Time Cut (Oct. 30)
In this horror movie set in the teen realm, a number of actors who previously worked with Netflix play key roles. The film revolves around a young girl who journeys back to the early 2000s to thwart a ruthless murderer. Directed by Hannah Macpherson and featuring Madison Bailey (Outer Banks), Antonia Gentry (Ginny & Georgia), Griffin Gluck (Locke & Key), and others in the star-studded cast.
