Netflix cancels upcoming real-life drama following Millie Bobby Brown exit

Netflix has cancelled a new drama series that was going to star Millie Bobby Brown, after reports that she left the project.

The movie, called Perfect, had Emma Brown cast as Kerri Strug, the Olympic gymnastics champion, and Gia Coppola, known for The Last Showgirl, was set to direct.

Sources at Deadline report that Marcus Brown has left the film, and production is now likely to be canceled.

According to the report, Brown left the film because she disagreed with the producers about the creative direction, but the specific reasons weren’t shared.

Originally, Francis Ford Coppola was going to direct the movie, with Ronnie Sandahl writing the screenplay. Production was scheduled to start this summer, but plans have changed.

Earlier this year, Francis Ford Coppola left the film, and Cate Shortland became the new director of the biopic.

The movie takes place in 1996 and tells the story of Kerri Strug and her teammates – known as the ‘Magnificent Seven’ – as they compete in the Olympic Games.

Kerri Strug bravely completed her final vault despite an injured ankle, and her coach carried her off the floor as she received a gold medal, creating one of the most iconic scenes in Olympic Games history.

I’m really excited because Millie Bobby Brown is getting ready to film Enola Holmes 3 on Netflix! She’s coming back as Enola, and apparently this case is going to be her toughest yet – her personal life and work are totally mixing together, and it sounds like things are getting seriously complicated.

Writer Jack Thorne recently shared with Radio Times that he felt compelled to revisit the story of Enola Holmes, wanting to explore a different facet of British society in a new way.

I used to see Enola Holmes as a shortcut to understanding what life was like in 19th-century Britain.

The first movie focused on changes to land ownership and voting rights, the second on the rise of labor unions, and the third explores our country’s colonial past. I’m particularly enthusiastic about being able to cover all of these important topics.
