Netflix cancels Rob Lowe’s Unstable after two seasons
As a long-time fan of Rob Lowe’s work, it’s always a bittersweet moment when a show he’s involved with comes to an end. The cancellation of “Unstable” on Netflix is just another reminder that even the most promising shows can sometimes fall short of their potential viewership.
Netflix has cancelled Rob Lowe’s comedy series Unstable after two seasons.
As a gamer, I was hooked by this series that I had the pleasure of helping bring to life, alongside my old man, John Owen Lowe. Together, we took on the roles of creator and executive producer. The story follows a young fellow who lands a job at his quirky, self-absorbed pop’s company, not just for the gig, but to keep tabs on him too.
The deadline announced the unfortunate news of cancellation for the show, a development that the team working on it had anticipated given that season 2 failed to crack Netflix’s Top 10 list when it premiered in August.
As a gamer, I’ve heard some whispers that the creators have been quietly scouting for a new home for our beloved show, even before the final curtain call was announced. Instead of jumping ship to another streaming platform, it seems they’re aiming for a more conventional network setup this time around. Now, here’s an interesting twist – Fox Network, which broadcasts Rob Lowe’s hit drama “9-1-1: Lone Star” and the game show “The Floor”, has reportedly declined our show.
The article mentions that Girls5eva, having been taken up by Netflix following its cancellation on Peacock, seems unlikely to come back for a fourth season. This is because its first season on its new platform (season 3) didn’t make it into the top 10 shows. However, it’s worth noting that the series did receive two Emmy nominations.
Mentioning the TV show “9-1-1: Lone Star“, it has been confirmed that the upcoming fifth season will mark its end.
According to Fox TV Network president Michael Thorn, during the last season of our show, we plan to deliver a grand finale filled with nail-biting rescues, impossible challenges, and personal struggles that resonate with viewers, all made possible by an exceptional ensemble cast headed by Rob Lowe and Gina Torres.
