Following the surprising hit of KPop Demon Hunters, Netflix has confirmed it’s making a sequel. Viewers can expect to see the Huntr/x back on their screens soon, and fans are thrilled about the news.

Netflix and Sony Pictures have officially agreed to make another KPop Demon Hunters movie, Bloomberg reports. The sequel is planned to come out in 2029, meaning fans will have to wait several years to see the return of Huntr/x.

Creating big animated movies takes a long time. Studios often adjust release dates as the films are being made, so announced dates aren’t always final. For instance, after the 2025 release of Demon Slayer: Infinite Castle, fans will need to wait until 2027 and then 2030 for the subsequent movies.

I was reading an interview with Maggie Kang, one of the directors, and she explained to Variety that they intentionally left some questions unanswered and certain storylines unexplored in the movie. She said it was a tough choice, but they simply couldn’t fit everything into an 85-minute film! It makes sense, honestly – you can’t cram everything into that timeframe.
