As a horror enthusiast who has survived countless sleepless nights thanks to the genre, I can confidently say that the arrival of “It Follows” on Netflix is a chilling delight for us ghoul-lovers! Having been initially released a decade ago, this film has managed to maintain its terror-inducing prowess and stands tall among the horror greats.
Netflix has added one of the most acclaimed horror movies ever just in time for spooky season.
A little over ten years back, I found myself captivated by “It Follows,” a film that tells the chilling tale from the perspective of a woman being relentlessly pursued by a supernatural force following an intimate encounter.
Today, users of the streaming platform in the UK and Ireland are able to stream the terrifying classic movie starting from now (October 30).
In 2014, David Robert Mitchell’s horror movie was met with both critical acclaim and significant commercial success, eventually earning a reputation as one of the finest examples within the genre.
According to Digital Spy, this horror film is a true masterpiece that you won’t easily forget; despite your impulse to avert your eyes from the screen, you find yourself unable to do so.
Previously, it had been announced that a follow-up to the film “It Follows” titled “They Follow” was being developed. This new installment is expected to bring back lead actress Maika Monroe and writer/director David Robert Mitchell.
In a conversation with DS in July, Monroe shared that the news about the sequel came as a shock and was totally unanticipated.
She mentioned that she might have heard whispers about it around a year back, give or take, and at first, she admitted to feeling somewhat apprehensive. “I found the initial storyline so captivating and its conclusion so satisfying,” she continued, “that I initially felt uneasy.
However, David has plans to reunite the group. The script is simply amazing, and given his immense talent, I believe this will result in something truly extraordinary.
You can currently stream “It Follows” on Netflix in both the UK and Ireland. As for “They Follow”, a release date has not been announced as of now.
