NetEase unveiled fresh rewards to bolster OWCS China, with Once Again players being the initial recipients of these benefits, showcasing their impressive performance.

2025’s Overwatch Champions Series (OWCS) Champions Clash, or the OWCS Hangzhou Major, marked the commencement of the live events for the season, offering thrilling matchups throughout. Crazy Raccoon eventually emerged victorious, however, their triumph was not without a formidable obstacle. Along their path to victory, they battled against China’s Once Again who displayed a remarkable effort. In an attempt to motivate OWCS teams from China, NetEase presented fresh incentives. It was the Once Again players who became the first recipients of these rewards due to their outstanding performance at the OWCS Champions Clash.

NetEase introduces performance incentives to OWCS China

During the recent weekend, NetEase unveiled an encouragement program aimed at boosting Chinese Overwatch Contenders Series (OWCS) teams throughout the 2025 season. This plan involves granting a reward of 200,000 RMB to every Chinese team that manages to secure a top four position at any live OWCS 2025 tournament.

Should a Chinese Overwatch 2 esports team emerge victorious at one of the major OWCS 2025 live tournaments, they will receive a prize money of 1,000,000 RMB (approximately $37,000 USD or $137,000 USD respectively).

Once Again at the OWCS Champions Clash

At the onset of the Overwatch Contenders Series Champions Clash, Once Again battled against Virtus.pro and won convincingly with a score of 2-0. But in the upper bracket semifinals, they lost to Team Falcons by a narrow margin of 2-3. Despite this setback, they managed to pull through, triumphing over Spacestating Gaming 3-1 in the lower bracket. When Once Again met Crazy Raccoon, the eventual OWCS Champions Clash winners, their campaign ended with a scoreline of 0-3.

Despite not winning the 1,000,000 RMB prize for first place, Once Again still walked away with 200,000 RMB as a result of their fourth-place finish at OWCS Champions Clash, thanks to NetEase’s fresh incentive plan.

Player Huang “Leave” Xin expressed his views following the OWCS Champions Clash. In Chinese, he offered his congratulations to Crazy Raccoon for their tournament triumph and commended their skill in turning the decisive battle around. He also noted that it was a well-earned victory.
