NetEase Games’ Spirit Beast Adventure, a new monster taming MMO, starts Closed beta testing in China

NetEase Games has initiated a closed-door trial (also known as a CBT) for their upcoming mobile monster taming MMORPG titled “Spirit Beast Adventure.” This test period is active in China and will continue until May 10, 2025. The game received approval in China on February 21 and can now be reserved through platforms such as Wandoujia, 9game, or the NetEase MuMu emulator.

Get ready to capture Chinese Spirit Beasts and enjoy strategic battles

Once upon a time, I was deep into the world of Codename Spirit Beast Chapter, now known as Spirit Beast Adventure – a vertical turn-based MMO that merges monster taming with strategic combat. Now, I’m on a quest to capture more than 100 mystical spirit beasts, train them up, and even evolve some by fusing or upgrading them. The battles are tactical, and I can feel the adrenaline rush every time I engage in one!

Growing up with a fascination for Chinese folklore, I’m excited about the prospect of amassing legendary creatures such as the Monkey King and the Nine-tailed Fox, among others. Each creature could possess up to 4 fundamental abilities initially, which can be expanded to 6 upon progression, along with potent passive traits for optimal gameplay experience.

Join a major sect and construct Chinese-style buildings

You can opt for one of the five distinct factions as well: Demon King Village, Fangcun Mountain, Tiangong, Pansidian Cave, and Hell, each featuring distinctive combat methods. However, what truly intrigues me is the prospect of building structures in a traditional Chinese style, with the aid of your spirit beasts.

Based on the trailer, it seems to hold significant potential. If they can successfully incorporate that in the actual game, with its captivating traditional Chinese art aesthetic, streamlined construction, diverse factions, strategic multiplayer features, economic trading, team dungeons, and relaxed idle aspects, it could turn out to be an exceptional game.

The mobile version of Spirit Beast Adventure has initiated a closed beta test in China that runs until the 10th of May, 2025. You can reserve your spot for the game through platforms like Wandoujia, 9game, or the NetEase MuMu emulator. The exact public beta time hasn’t been disclosed yet, so keep an eye on their Weibo account for further updates.
