NetEase Games has declared that they will be conducting a closed beta test (CBT) for their science fiction role-playing shooter game titled “Destiny: Rising” on Android devices, starting May 29 in the United States and Canada. Originally unveiled in October 2024, it previously underwent its first alpha testing phase in November 2024 across those regions. Now, it is possible for individuals worldwide to pre-register for this game on iOS devices.
Get ready to dive into a new adventure in an alternate timeline in Destiny: Rising
If you haven’t heard yet, “Destiny: Rising” is the initial mobile game within Bungie’s well-known “Destiny” series. This game takes place in an alternate timeline of Destiny, allowing players to assume unique roles and embark on a fresh journey to safeguard Earth and restore humanity’s destiny.

In this upcoming game, you’ll encounter both familiar characters from the Destiny universe as well as new ones, each with their unique backstories and abilities. Given my extensive experience with Destiny and Destiny 2, I’m genuinely excited for this release, particularly looking forward to the return of classic campaign missions, challenging 6-player Strikes, and the introduction of new player versus environment (PvE) and player versus player (PvP) modes.
The game was officially unveiled during the NetEase Games 520 Online Conference 2025 on May 20th. It had been a topic of much speculation among fans, as hints from Bungie’s job listings back in September 2021 suggested the development of a mobile game.
How to apply for the upcoming CBT
Great news! The game we’ve been waiting for will commence its closed beta testing on Android devices, starting from May 29th, exclusively available in the United States and Canada. This test is jam-packed with exciting elements such as an extended narrative, fresh character introductions, challenging missions, Strike maps, a Master difficulty level, numerous casual activities, and even some secret surprises!
I’m feeling a pang of envy since I won’t be able to join in this test, which means I’ll miss out on meeting Xuan Wei and Umeko, as well as exploring fresh missions and Strike maps. But, on the bright side, global pre-registration for iOS is now available! You can now pre-order through the App Store, with rewards up for grabs based on pre-registration milestones.
