Scarlett Thomas, whose parents are well-known figures, recently revealed her singing talent in a new video. She’s focusing on a music career after choosing not to take her GCSE exams this summer.
Ryan Thomas and Tina O’Brien’s 16-year-old daughter, who recently shared she hadn’t taken her exams, posted a new video of herself singing Sienna Spiro’s song ‘Maybe’.
She sounded incredible in the clip as she revealed she was enjoying a day in the studio.
Her mother, Tina, and uncles Scott and Adam immediately praised her singing.
She frequently posts singing videos on TikTok and has said she hopes to pursue a career in entertainment, like the rest of her family.
Following the news that Scarlett could earn a substantial income from her acting career, it seems her decision to miss her GCSE exams this summer may not be a significant issue.
The young actress first gained recognition in 2023 when she appeared in the BBC drama *Waterloo Road*, playing the character of Izzy, who happened to be the on-screen daughter of her actual uncle, Adam Thomas.
She comes from a well-known family: her father is actor Ryan, known for his role in ‘Corrie,’ and her mother is Tina, who also starred in the show. Plus, her uncle is reality TV star Scott Thomas from ‘Love Island’.
Even though her acting career is taking off, her father, Ryan, has stated that she isn’t receiving any special treatment simply because of her family connections.
She’s becoming a star on TV and online, and experts believe she could earn as much as £2 million before she turns eighteen.
A recent TikTok video from the young creator went viral, earning almost three million views. She’s quickly gained a large following, with over 204,000 followers on TikTok and 142,000 on Instagram. She started both accounts when she turned sixteen last October.
She’s often featured on her parents’ social media, and the whole Thomas family even has their own account.
This includes her famous uncles as well as Ryan’s former TOWIE star fiancée Lucy Mecklenburgh.
PR professional Lynn Carratt observed that the family is very close and knows how to use platforms like TikTok to successfully promote their individual careers. They skillfully leverage popular trends, and each family member possesses unique talents.
She explained that the family’s TikTok videos are a great way to showcase their talents to a large audience, which is fantastic for their public image.
She continued, explaining that Teddy is very talented and it looks like his children will also pursue creative careers, just like their father and uncles. Scarlett frequently appears in videos with her dad and uncles, demonstrating her abilities in singing and acting. Growing up with parents who work in television, Scarlett has clearly inherited their talent. She seems like a confident, friendly girl with strong family ties.
Lynn explained that the Thomas family’s videos are successfully using each family member’s unique personality and skills to attract millions of viewers every day.
This method is getting them more notice than appearing on regular television, and it’s leading to many new job possibilities for everyone in the family.
I think Scarlett and her cousin Teddy have bright futures in entertainment. As Scarlett gets older, I could definitely see her becoming part of a girl group.
In an interview with The Sun, Ryan previously explained that his daughter’s career beginnings were fair and that she didn’t receive any special treatment.
He said: ‘Everyone thinks she gets a lift up from family, getting on Waterloo Road.
She earned that job through a lot of hard work, and people should acknowledge her talent. She’s competing with others and succeeding on her own merits.
He explained that she had to compete fairly for the position, just like any other candidate. It wasn’t a predetermined decision – she wasn’t automatically chosen for the job.
Scarlett recently revealed she did not sit her GCSEs.
She’s determined to pursue a career in entertainment, just like her parents, and loves both acting and singing.
Although most teenagers in England take GCSE exams, it’s not actually the law. The Education Act of 1996 doesn’t require them. Sixteen-year-olds can choose different qualifications or stop being in full-time education if they prefer.
Not having GCSEs might restrict your choices when it comes to continuing your education, like going to college or university.
Many jobs now require applicants to have a grade 4 or C (or above) in English and Maths.
