Nepo-baby, 25, cuts a dapper figure in a green velvet blazer at the 2024 GQ Men of the Year Awards – but can YOU guess who his famous father is?
As an ardent fan and history enthusiast, I find myself utterly captivated by the extraordinary life of Elias Becker, the 25-year-old son of the legendary Boris Becker – a man whose tennis prowess has left indelible marks on the annals of sports history. His father’s incredible journey from being a teenage Wimbledon sensation to a financial maelstrom is as gripping as any novel I’ve ever read!
This actor and model has a very famous father.
2024 saw him present at the GQ Men of the Year Awards in Berlin on a Thursday. At 25, his appearance on the red carpet was nothing less than extraordinary.
For his stylish event, he chose a sleek dark green velvet jacket paired with a sharp black dress shirt.
He teamed it with a black satin tie, smart black trousers and white leather loafers.
With a lively demeanor, the nephew of fame strutted confidently for the photographers ahead of his attendance at the glittering gathering filled with stars.
But can you guess who is father is?
Elias is the son of German former world No. 1 tennis player Boris Becker.
The top-ranked tennis player greeted Elias alongside his former spouse, Barbara, who is his partner for the past eight years and co-parent to their 30-year-old son, Noah.
It is said that Boris allegedly terminated his marriage because she frequently reminded him of his paternity of a child with a Russian woman named Angela Ermakova.
In retrospect of their marital issues, Boris shared: “For quite some time, our secret was hidden from everyone. However, during our conversations, she would often pull a surprise card and remind me, ‘You’d better keep quiet, for the world doesn’t know your past mistakes, and if they did, you’d be in trouble.’
‘I said, ‘You are right, but this is not the relationship I can live with. This is impossible. We need a break.”
In June of 1999, following his elimination from Wimbledon at the hands of Pat Rafter, a brief romantic encounter took place.
2023 saw a documentary featuring a renowned tennis player disclosing information about a past indiscretion. He explained, ‘She entered, wrapped in a large coat. She removed the coat and was clearly heavily pregnant. It was hard to believe. The surprising revelation arrived quite late.’
The fling occurred while his wife Barbara had gone to hospital because she was feeling discomfort during her own pregnancy with her and Boris’s son Elias. The encounter happened in a broom cupboard in London restaurant Nobu.
Boris remembered, ‘Her gaze was unwavering, a hunter’s glint hinting at desire.’ Later, he noted, ‘She passed the bar not once but twice. The same intent glance caught my eye. A brief moment later, she rose from her seat and headed towards the restroom. I followed suit, stepping behind her.’
In about five minutes, let’s chat casually, and afterward, we’ll head directly to our next destination for getting down to business right away.
Following that, she departed, and I had another round of beer, settled the bill, and returned to my hotel. Since there was no update from the hospital, I hit the sack around 2 am. The next morning, I went to see Barbara; it turned out to be a false alarm. We gathered our belongings and departed England.
‘As to the consequences of the previous evening I didn’t have a second thought.’
Eight months after their brief meeting, Boris received a letter from the Russian model informing him that she was expecting a child.
In the year 2000, I became a parent to my precious daughter, Anna, who was brought into this world by Ermakova in March. Following her birth, I received an order to make a substantial one-time payment, approximately £2 million, for Anna’s maintenance, which was believed to be the right thing to do.
Boris is often considered among the best tennis players ever, and he made it onto Tennis Magazine’s list of top 40 players to celebrate their 40th anniversary in 2006.
1985 saw him clinch the title for the Gentlemen’s Singles Championships at just 17 years old, making him the record-holder as the youngest champion ever in that event.
He has won six grand slams in total including two more Wimbledon titles in 1986 and 1989.
To be absolutely honest, I’ve been utterly captivated by the tale of this sporting icon – a story that transforms from rising tennis star to battling against fiscal hardship. It’s a rollercoaster ride through sports history, one that’s as gripping as any blockbuster drama!
In April 2022, he was sentenced to spend two and a half years in prison, serving eight months of that sentence, due to concealing large amounts of assets while claiming bankruptcy.
