Lawyer Rosenblum stands as the representative for the artist behind the hit song “Hot in Herre,” following his apprehension in Maryland Heights, a suburban area adjacent to Saint Louis, Missouri. The authorities claim they found four Ecstasy tablets within his vehicle post-arrest.
According to a report by FOX 2 News and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Iral Haynes Jr., was also charged for driving without insurance during his arrest. Later on Wednesday, he was released from custody.
According to a statement given to DailyMail.com, Rosenblum stated that Nelly was not accused of drug possession, but instead was taken into custody for lack of car insurance from 2018. This arrest occurred due to a warrant issued in December 2023, which he claims he had no prior knowledge about.
The lawyer stated that Nelly was “overly scrutinized by an overenthusiastic officer acting beyond his bounds,” following a profitable night at the Hollywood Casino and Hotel where he claimed multiple big wins.
Rosenblum stated that instead of merely overseeing the transfer of Nelly’s earnings, the police officer seemed driven to perform an unnecessary warrant check without any real necessity.
According to Rosenblum, the police officer informed Nelly that it’s compulsory to conduct a background check whenever a player wins an amount beyond a particular sum.
The rapper discovered the assertion was untrue because he had already won multiple prizes of comparable or larger values, including one the previous week without any issues or background checks, according to Rosenblum.
Rosenblum stated that once Nelly learned about an unpaid fine related to insurance matters, the officer found it necessary to cuff Nelly’s hands behind his back and lead him through the casino while others looked on.

Following his arrest by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Nelly was later handed over to the Maryland Heights Police Department. There, they took him into custody due to an outstanding warrant for not appearing in court.
