Neil Young reverses decision on canceled Glastonbury performance
Neil Young is back on the bill at Glastonbury.
3 days following the announcement of his withdrawal from this year’s well-respected English music festival, the 79-year-old rock icon declared on Friday that the performance was now reinstated in his tour schedule. He expressed enthusiasm about the event and stated that he and his team are eagerly anticipating the performance.
On Tuesday, Young shared on his website that he and his band, Chrome Hearts, received information that BBC is now involved with Glastonbury, and they wanted us to adhere to certain requirements we weren’t keen on. It appears that Glastonbury, as I recall it, has shifted towards a more corporate-oriented model.

A recently published biography focuses on the life of the 81-year-old musician, who is known for his work as a songwriter and composer, written by a former critic from The Times specializing in pop music.
Last Friday, Young revised his post, attributing a mistake in the received data as the reason behind his cancellation.
Emily Eavis expressed excitement on Instagram about Neil Young’s change of mind, stating, “What a great start to the year!” She went on to express her affection for Neil Young as an artist, saying, “Neil Young is someone who holds a special place in our hearts at Glastonbury. He marches to his own beat, and that’s exactly why we adore him.
As reported by The Guardian, there was a disagreement between Young and the BBC (a long-time collaborator of Glastonbury, having partnered for almost three decades) concerning the amount of his performance at the festival in 2009 that they were allowed to air.
In March, Young reinstated his music on Spotify following its removal in 2022, which was a response to his disapproval towards alleged vaccine misinformation disseminated by podcast host Joe Rogan.
On Friday, it was revealed that Young will release an unheard-of album titled “Oceanside Countryside” on Valentine’s Day (February 14th). This record, which was originally recorded in 1977, contains two distinct groups of songs: one where Young performs solo and another where he is joined by Ben Keith, Rufus Thibodeaux, Karl T. Himmel, Joe Osborne, Tim Drummond, and the Band’s Levon Helm for accompaniment.
