In the year 2009, a fresh take on the iconic science fiction series was launched through a movie. This film introduces a youthful James T. Kirk, portrayed by Chris Pine, and Spock, played by Zachary Quinto. Together, they face off against Nero from Romulus, acted by Eric Bana.

With a 61% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the movie “The Last Stand” received praise as being “fun in an unexpected way” and “perfect for enjoying with popcorn,” according to the Irish Times. The London Evening Standard also commended its “smoothly delivered nostalgia.

In addition to the lead roles, the film boasts acting from Forest Whitaker, Johnny Knoxville, Rodrigo Santoro, Jaimie Alexander, and Luis Guzmán.

Mindhorn

This 2016 comedy is praised as incredibly humorous by Time Out, reaching near-constant laughs (as CineVue puts it). It boasts an impressive 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

In this rephrased version, a fading television actor, who happens to be portrayed by Julian Barratt and also collaborated with Simon Farnaby from “Paddington,” is compelled to team up with the police in the movie titled “Mindhorn.” The reason being, a serial killer, who thinks the Mindhorn character (the TV detective role of this actor) is genuine, insists on communicating exclusively with this fictional character.

This outstanding ensemble stars Essie Davis, Russell Tovey, Andrea Riseborough, and Harriet Walter. Don’t miss the guest appearances by Kenneth Branagh and Simon Callow as well!

In the film, the actress delivered a career-defining role that won her a BAFTA and earned an Oscar nomination. Empire Magazine hailed it as the “performance of a lifetime,” while The Observer deemed the movie a “phenomenal masterpiece.

In the movie Tár, which is directed and penned by Todd Field, Noémie Merlant, Nina Hoss, Sophie Kauer, and Julian Glover take on significant roles alongside the main cast.

Jack Reacher

In the times prior to the popular Prime Video series, Tom Cruise portrayed Lee Child’s title role in this action film from 2012.

In the movie titled “Jack Reacher,” a retired military investigator from the U.S. Army is enlisted to aid in an investigation concerning a highly skilled army marksman implicated in a multiple shooting incident.

The movie garnered positive reviews and currently holds a rating of 64% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. _The Times_ described it as “lively and entertaining.” Additionally, the success of this film resulted in a 2016 sequel titled “_Never Go Back_”.
