What to Read Next
BBC – best for classic horrors
For fans of classic horror, BBC iPlayer offers a great selection, from influential films like Halloween (1978) and Alien to more recent iconic movies such as Scream (including its sequels, Scream 2 and Scream 3) and The Blair Witch Project.
If you’re like me and always looking for fresh horror to watch, you absolutely have to check out what BBC has on offer. I recently discovered His House and Relic, and honestly, they’re two of the best horror movies I’ve seen in the last five years – seriously creepy and really well done!
- Alien
- The Blair Witch Project
- Carrie
- Halloween (1978)
- His House
- Misery
- Relic
- Scream

ITV – best for modern horrors
As a horror fan, I’ve been checking out what ITVX has to offer, and it’s got a really good selection of newer scary movies. I was especially excited to see things like Saw, It Follows, and Shaun of the Dead available. Seriously, if you’re a Saw fanatic like me, you can watch all of them – including the brand new Saw X – on ITVX. It’s the perfect way to spend a spooky Halloween weekend, if you’re brave enough for a Saw marathon!
Halloween is a great time for families, and ITVX has some perfect options! You can stream the classic movie Casper right now, and if you’re looking for something funny to go with the spooky vibes, the hilarious mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows is a fantastic choice.
- The Babadook
- Casper
- Coraline
- It Follows
- Saw
- Shaun of the Dead
- The Thing (1982)
- What We Do in the Shadows

Channel 4 – best for British horrors
For a Halloween filled with unique and unsettling horror, Channel 4 is a great choice. They have a fantastic selection of recent independent horror films like Pearl and Saint Maud, plus excellent British horror titles such as Kill List and Berberian Sound Studio.
To get you in the holiday mood, we’ve added the hilarious and scary movie Anna and the Apocalypse to our lineup. And for a good laugh, we’ve also included The Pope’s Exorcist – it’s always a treat to see Russell Crowe riding a Vespa!
- Anna and the Apocalypse
- Berberian Sound Studio
- The Black Phone
- Kill List
- Pearl
- The Pope’s Exorcist
- Saint Maud
- You Are Not My Mother

Channel 5 – best for hidden horror gems
Channel 5’s streaming service is a surprisingly good option, especially if you love horror. It’s the only place in the UK where you can stream movies made exclusively for AMC Shudder without paying a subscription.
Shudder is a streaming service specifically for horror movies—think of it like Netflix, but just for scary content. While not every original film is a hit, there are some really good ones to watch now. We’ve highlighted five of our favorites, but you could also just rewatch the incredibly popular Host as many times as you like!
- The Beach House
- Found Footage 3D
- Host
- La Llorona
- Scare Package
The latest issue of Living Legends is now available! You can purchase Ariana & Witches at newsstands or online for only £8.99.
