Even though it’s not yet available for viewing in the UK, the medical drama The Pitt has been picked up for a third season. The show stars Noah Wyle as Dr. Michael ‘Robby’ Robinavitch and follows him and his team during their demanding 15-hour shifts in a Pittsburgh hospital emergency department.
I’m so excited – the second season is finally here! It’s streaming on HBO Max today in the US, and the best news? Deadline is reporting that we’re already getting a third season! I can’t wait!
Even though the second season is coming to the US soon, UK fans of the medical drama still don’t have access to The Pitt.

The new episodes begin ten months after the season one finale, unfolding over the Fourth of July weekend and coinciding with Dr. Frank Langdon’s (Patrick Ball) return to work.
The ER is welcoming several new cast members, including Luke Tennie, Travis Van Winkle, Meta Golding, and Christopher Thornton.
Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Katherine LaNasa, Supriya Ganesh, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell, Shawn Hatosy, and Shabana Azeez will all return for the second season, joining stars Max Wyle and Amanda Ball.
Critics and audiences both love The Pitt, which has earned a remarkable 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

NPR praised the show, saying that watching a few hours of The Pitt will leave you feeling as tired as the medical staff on screen. However, they also noted that, like the original ER, you’ll quickly grow to care about the characters.
According to The New Yorker, the show is designed to be a rollercoaster of emotions, with viewers experiencing both heartbreak and healing in each episode – the only question is how it will happen.
You can watch The Pitt on HBO Max in the US, but it’s not currently available for streaming in the UK.
