Near-perfect “dark and twisty” action-packed streaming hit confirms September return

Prime Video has confirmed the release date for the highly-anticipated second season of Gen V.

The Boys spin-off will make its return to the streaming service on 17 September.

The announcement was made on X, as Amazon MGM Studios’ Twitter account posted: “It’s time to get back to school! ‘Gen V’ Season 2 will be available from September 17 on @PrimeVideo,” accompanied by the season two poster.

What to Read Next

The first season of Gen V, which has been met with widespread acclaim from both critics and viewers, boasts a remarkable 97% positive review score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Gen V is concisely characterized by Autostraddle as a “dramatic series unfolding within a complex, enigmatic environment.

The Washington Post’s review stated that “Gen V” is a captivating and entertaining show, standing out due to its ability to skillfully blend violence and humor with emotion.

In the narrative, we move forward to Gen V, where the new generation of superheroes attend the Godolkin University’s School of Crimefighting. They all vie for an opportunity to become part of The Seven.

While season one was set before The Boys fourth season, season two will be set after it.

In the previous year, creator Eric Kripke revealed that the series Gen V would honor the memory of the late actor Chance Perdomo by incorporating a touching storyline within its second season.

In March 2024, at just 27 years old, actor Perdomo – best known for his role as Andre Anderson – sadly lost his life following a motorcycle accident.

Affirming that Perdomo’s character wouldn’t be replaced, Kripke stated: “It’s incredibly heartbreaking, and I can only imagine the pain his family must feel.

Although we’re unable to fill his role, we’re portraying his character’s demise in the series. It’s a weighty and emotionally challenging process for us actors. Our goal is to pay tribute to Chance in the most respectful manner possible.

I’m thrilled to share that starting September 17th, I can continue my Pokémon journey in Gen V season 2, exclusively on Prime Video! And if you haven’t caught up yet, don’t worry – you can watch season 1 right now on the same platform. Let’s embark on this adventure together!
