NCIS Season 22 will not premiere in September 2024 (but we know when it will return)

As a dedicated NCIS fan with over two decades of watching under my belt, I must admit that the delay in the Season 22 premiere has left me feeling like Gibbs on a stakeout – impatient and restless! However, as a gamer who’s learned to roll with the punches, I’m ready to adjust my calendar and eagerly await October 14.

The anticipation is high for the comeback of our beloved TV series. Typically, September offers a vast array of premieres, but that’s not the scenario with CBS shows. Unfortunately, the season premiere of NCIS, season 22, will not air in September 2024.

We discovered this information when CBS unveiled their start dates for programs. Unlike usual, most shows won’t be airing or returning in September. Instead, the first week of October will serve as a premiere week, with Season 2 of Tracker kicking off on Sunday, Oct. 13.

The twenty-second season of NCIS is set to debut on Monday, October 14th. This episode will be broadcast at 8 p.m. Eastern Time/Pacific Time on that day, however, it will shift to the 9 p.m. ET/PT timeslot the week after. Instead, a two-hour premiere for the prequel series NCIS: Origins will take place on the 14th.

What to expect in NCIS Season 22

As a dedicated gamer, I’m eagerly anticipating the upcoming season, but there’s one major mystery that has me hooked – will Katrina Law be back as Jessica Knight? The 21st season saw her making a tough choice, taking a job offer that took her across the country. This decision put her relationship with Palmer in jeopardy and left us hanging about whether Knight would rejoin the team.

No announcements regarding cast members have been made for the series since its final episode. This might suggest that Knight will return, but it’s also possible it’s a strategy to build anticipation and make viewers tune in for the premiere. It’s only then we might learn about the official decision and any new casting news.

It’s clear that we’ll discover more details about Parker’s history. What makes this intriguing is that Parker himself will be uncovering his past mysteries. For instance, he’s still uncertain about the identity of the Lily girl at the close of season 21, and it’s high time for him to unearth some forgotten memories.

The positive aspect is that we’ll have a complete season of 22 episodes for NCIS Season 22 this year, thanks to the absence of any labor disputes or strikes like the one in 2023. This means production has gone smoothly as scheduled.
