NCIS’ Michael Weatherly shares first set photo from Tony & Ziva spinoff
As a seasoned gamer of the NCIS universe, spanning over two decades and countless episodes, I can’t help but feel a surge of nostalgia at the prospect of Tony and Ziva embarking on a new adventure. The idea of these beloved characters, who have been through thick and thin together, now with a daughter in tow, is an exciting one that has me eagerly awaiting the first episode.
Actor Michael Weatherly, known for his role on NCIS, posted the initial image from the forthcoming NCIS spin-off show, titled NCIS: Tony & Ziva.
In this show, Weatherly and Cote de Pablo take up their characters again, with the narrative tracing the journey of the trio – father, mother, and child – as they evade danger in Europe following an assault on Tony’s security business.
Since the filming of the series has begun, Weatherly shared some news with fans by taking a selfie on the set and posting it on Instagram, captioned: “Taking a moment to cool off amidst the heat during our thrilling #NCIS Tony & Ziva reunion!”
Back in February, Weatherly and de Pablo unveiled the project together with showrunner John McNamara. They shared a joint statement expressing, “For quite some time, we’ve been discussing this story. Now that John is leading the way, we feel it’s the right moment to move forward.”
The realm of Tony, Ziva, and their daughter Tali is set to deliver a thrilling, emotional ride filled with love, peril, sorrow, and humor. Let’s give a heartfelt thanks to fans from all over the globe who have backed the ‘TIVA’ campaign for such a long time.
To this very moment, they still greet each other in supermarkets and on the streets as a way of expressing their deep affection for these characters and inquiring about Tony and Ziva’s current activities. They ended by saying, “This is for you,” with McNamara also adding his own statement.
He expressed great enthusiasm about joining the NCIS world alongside Cote and Michael, and he’s eager to examine it from fresh perspectives. Since the franchise has such a massive international following, he finds it amazing that CBS Studios and Paramount+ have allowed us to film in Europe. As for the title of this series, revealing it would breach the Espionage Act.
NCIS airs on CBS in the US. Seasons 1-20 are streaming on Disney+ in the UK.
