NCIS Continues Streaming Dominance After Tony & Ziva Cancellation

Despite recently losing one of its related shows, CBS is continuing to establish itself as a major player in the streaming world. NCIS has been a popular show on CBS for twenty years and continues to perform well. Even with this change, the NCIS franchise remains successful on streaming platforms.

According to FlixPatrol, NCIS is currently a popular show on Paramount+, appearing in the Top 10 in multiple countries. In the United States, it’s ranked at number 6, and averages a global ranking of 6.9. This success isn’t unexpected, as NCIS has long been a popular series on CBS, so it makes sense it’s performing well on their streaming service, Paramount+.

Besides its success in the US, NCIS ranks highly internationally. It’s a top 5 show in Australia and a top 10 show in Canada, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico. NCIS is currently #1 on Hulu in Japan and appears in the top 10 on SkyShowtime in countries including Finland, the Netherlands, Spain, and Sweden.

What Happened to NCIS Spinoff Starring Tony & Ziva?

Christmas brought disappointing news for fans of NCIS: Tony & Ziva. The show, a spin-off of NCIS, was canceled by Paramount+ and CBS Studios after only one season. This marked the first time an NCIS spin-off had been canceled so quickly, as NCIS: Tony & Ziva first aired on September 4, 2025.

The characters Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David, played by Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo, returned in a new series after leaving the original NCIS show nearly ten years prior, at the end of Season 11. Following the new series’ cancellation, Weatherly and de Pablo issued a joint statement.

We’re so grateful for the opportunity to revisit these characters and continue Tony and Ziva’s journey. We want to thank our amazing cast, crew, writers, directors, and producers, as well as our partners at CBS Studios and Paramount+, for helping us bring this story to life.

More than anything, we want to thank the fans worldwide who shared this journey with us and were finally able to see Tony and Ziva get their happy ending.

NCIS Ratings Remain High After Season 23

Beginning in Fall 2025, a new series will follow a team of special agents with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS). Each episode will present a different criminal case involving members of the Navy and Marine Corps, covering everything from terrorism threats to the theft of submarines.

I’m a big fan of NCIS, and it really deserves its 7.8 out of 10 rating on IMDb – that’s based on a huge number of reviews, over 175,000! What’s really impressive is how consistently good it is. I’ve looked at the ratings for every episode, all the way from the very beginning with Season 1 up to the current Season 23, and not a single one has dropped below a 7. They’ve only released nine episodes of Season 23 so far, but I’m already excited for more!

I’m really enjoying the current season of NCIS! The team is fantastic – Sean Murray, Wilmer Valderrama, Katrina Law, Brian Dietzen, Diona Reasonover, Rocky Carroll, and Gary Cole all bring so much to their roles. If you want to catch it, it airs on CBS Tuesdays at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
