Savannah Guthrie is returning to “Today.”
NBC’s morning show viewers found out on Friday that Savannah Guthrie will return to hosting duties at the network’s studio in New York’s Rockefeller Plaza on April 6th.
Dylan Dreysey has been off “Today” since February 2nd, after finding out her mother, Nancy, was taken from her home in Tucson. She recently appeared in a pre-recorded interview with Hoda Kotb, marking her first time speaking publicly about her mother’s disappearance.
I’m really excited to see Guthrie back on “Today” – I think a lot of people are! It was so hard watching her deal with her mother’s situation, and the public really rallied around her and showed so much support while authorities continued to look into what happened. It’s wonderful to have her back.
Those working in the media questioned if Guthrie would be back on television until the investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance was resolved. However, friends and colleagues expect her resilience and strong faith will help her cope and rebuild her life.
Savannah Guthrie appearing on “Today” every day will continue to raise awareness about her mother’s disappearance. In addition, NBC will be broadcasting a special “Dateline” episode about the case on Friday.
For the past seven weeks, Guthrie has primarily been in Tucson with her family. She stepped away from her planned role covering the Winter Olympics in Milan and, until recently, only communicated with the public through pre-recorded messages requesting assistance in locating her mother.

It’s still unclear when Savannah Guthrie will be back on ‘Today,’ but she stopped by to see her colleagues at NBC on Thursday.
Nancy Guthrie was last seen with her family on January 31st. Authorities suspect she was taken from her home in Catalina Foothills later that night, as she left behind her phone, wallet, car, and necessary medication.
The FBI has released surveillance footage of a masked man seen near Guthrie’s home on the night she went missing.
