NaVi reverse sweep MOUZ – EWC 2024 Semi-Finals

As a seasoned CS:GO analyst with decades of experience under my belt, I’ve seen it all. But this NaVi vs MOUZ match was something truly special. The way NaVi spun out on Dust2 was a reminder of the unpredictability of this beautiful game we all love. But then, they came back strong on Nuke, showing the champion mentality that has earned them numerous titles.

Who’ll make the Grand Finals?

In the EWC 2024 Semi-Finals, NaVi and MOUZ go head-to-head, vying for a spot in the final match against G2. Each team boasts standout players contending for the MVP title. Which team’s superstars will emerge victorious?

B1t vs Jimpphat – The duel of MVPs

As a fan, I find NaVi and MOUZ to be two of the most intriguing CS:2 teams in the current scene. From NaVi’s perspective, we’ve had our ups and downs. We’ve managed to secure a major victory despite losing more rounds than we won. On the other hand, MOUZ has been looking like the undisputed number one team in the world. However, they seem to struggle when faced with high-pressure situations.

Front and center are Valerij “b1t” Vakhovsjkyj and Jimi “Jimpphat” Salo. For months, b1t, the Ukrainian rifler from NaVi, has been striving to return to his exceptional form from 2021-2022. He had a brief moment of brilliance in the Major final, but here he truly shined. This performance will be vital for NaVi as they face off against MOUZ, who have a potential MVP on their team. Jimpphat is keeping pace with b1t’s 1.50+ ratings throughout the event. These two star anchors will make all the difference in this match.

Dust2 – NaVi’s pick goes terribly wrong – 13-1

From the beginning, Dust2 proved to be a challenging map for NaVi. In the opening pistol round, MOUZ took an early lead with a score of 3-0. Even when NaVi reached B site during the first gun round, their attempt to retake it was meticulously planned by MOUZ, leading to an uninterrupted streak. NaVi failed to gain momentum as they lost traction on Dust2. MOUZ’s defense remained robust, allowing them to secure only a single round. Aleksib, NaVi’s captain and in-game leader, faced difficulties both individually and strategically, unable to find an effective solution. In contrast, Jimi of MOUZ displayed impressive form and was the top performer for his team once again.

Nuke – The Major Champs show up – 13-8

As a gamer, I could say: In what seemed like an inevitable win for MOUZ, NaVi managed to turn the tables and make it a competitive series. They began with a smart pistol round strategy, but unfortunately gave MOUZ a four-round lead, starting with Brollan’s brilliant opening play. However, our defense eventually held them back in round 7, and we extended our lead to six rounds in the first half. Just before halftime, a crucial 2v3 from MOUZ tied it up. Whatever blad3 shared during the break must have been some sort of game-changing motivation for us, as we came out stronger in the second half.

The team added another pistol modification, and with it came the loading of ammunition. The defensive roles on Dust2 switched as NaVi relentlessly breached through MOUZ’s barriers. They maintained their intensity until securing the map objective. MOUZ regained some ground by capturing two more points but ultimately lost control of the map.

Mirage – Absolutely w0nderful from NaVi – 13-5

As a fan, I couldn’t believe my eyes during the pistol round on Mirage. W0nderful, the Ukrainian sniper, kicked things off with a stunning triple kill. I was completely captivated by his performance, and he continued to impress me, racking up an impressive 10 frags in just the first 5 rounds! Even when NaVi seemed to be struggling, w0nderful came through with an incredible clutch as CT, saving the day for them. What a way to start off a match!

MOUZ suffered a devastating defeat as they found themselves on the receiving end of a dominant performance by siuhy’s team. At last, wonderful was subdued by siuhy’s crew, but JL and Aleksib took charge to secure the round for their team. Jimpphat contributed the first point to MOUZ, while xertioN joined him to double their score. However, wondrous’ AWP was unerring, allowing them to build a commanding 9-3 lead at halftime.

At the brink of victory, MOUZ appeared ready to secure a pistol round win. However, w0nderful from NaVi opted for a risky approach using only a Deagle. This unexpected move gave NaVi an advantage, enabling them to claim the match point. All five players remained in the game, ultimately leading NaVi to the Grand Finals.

NaVi move past MOUZ to the EWC Grand Finals

As a fan, I can’t help but be in awe of NaVI’s impressive performance leading up to the Grand Finals. b1t was already playing exceptionally well, but now w0nderful is joining him and shining brightly. Tactically, we have blad3 on our side, giving us confidence that we can outmaneuver G2. With a challenging match ahead for G2 and a potential trophy at stake for NaVI, the European Winter Championships are sure to have an exhilarating finale.
