At the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, there were two standout teams that caught everyone’s attention. Team Spirit had previously triumphed at the Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) Major, leading spectators to anticipate an outstanding display from them. However, Mousesports (MOUZ) dashed these expectations and knocked out Team Spirit from the competition.
As a gamer, I’ve got to give a shoutout to my second favorite team – Team Vitality! They’ve been absolutely killing it this year with their phenomenal performances. Not many esports organizations can boast a five-trophy streak at top-tier competitions. Right now, they’re considered the cream of the crop in CS:2, hands down.
To achieve their dream of dominating numerous competitions, Team Vitality needs to outperform Natus Vincere in the Major’s quarterfinal. While NAVI has experienced some victories and defeats in their recent matches, taking on Vitality is no easy task. Still, NAVI is an exceptional team that can produce impressive outcomes.

At the CS2 BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, there’s minimal room for errors, particularly during the Playoffs. Unlike other tournaments, there are no lower brackets; a single loss results in elimination. Teams NAVI and Team Vitality face a best-of-three (Bo3) match to adjust and bounce back. If either team loses, they’re out of the competition.

Match preview: A crack in Vitality’s results and NAVI’s down period
Initially, Team Vitality suffered a disappointing defeat in the Austin Major. They were bested by team Legacy with a score of 13:3 on the map Inferno. Despite this early loss, it didn’t impact the overall progression of Stage 3, as both teams eventually made it to the Playoffs and Legacy was ultimately eliminated. However, this marked the end of Vitality’s impressive 30-match winning streak.
Apart from this latest victory, the team has been on an impressive winning streak in tournaments. They’re entering the BLAST Major with five consecutive trophies, the last one being their triumph at IEM Dallas 2025, which is truly remarkable!
For NAVI, claiming the victory at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 didn’t mean a satisfactory performance for them, as their placement in several recent CS:2 events was what truly mattered. In fact, at PGL Astana 2025, where only a handful of top teams were participating, Natus Vincere ended up in the 5th-8th position; they were knocked out by Astralis.
During the Austin Major, Team Spirit outplayed NAVI in Stage 3. Furthermore, their encounters against 3DMAX and G2 were particularly challenging, with the overtime games being nail-bitingly tight.
In the parentheses, paiN Gaming overcame FURIA. This Brazilian squad will face off against either FaZe or MongolZ, the winners of their match, in the semifinal. The grand finale for Counter-Strike 2 BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 is scheduled for June 22.
