As a long-time gamer and esports enthusiast, I’ve witnessed countless matches and tournaments over the years. The Esports World Cup has been an exciting addition to the scene, with its million-dollar prize pool and the best Counter-Strike teams from around the globe battling it out in Riyadh. NAVI’s journey so far in this tournament has been nothing short of impressive.
NAVI will face G2 in the Grand Finals!
In the Esports World Cup Semifinals, MOUZ was defeated by NAVI with a score of 2-1. As a result, NAVI advanced to the championship match against G2 esports in the Esports World Cup Grand Finals.
NAVI take down MOUZ
NAVI’s series beginning didn’t meet expectations of their fans as they lost Dust 2 with a disappointing score of 1-13. However, NAVI remained composed and determined, continuing their push forward in the competition.
Wonderful and Bit delivered impressive showings on Nuke, with Wonderful notching up an impressive 21 kills and Bit contributing 20 frags. However, it was their teamwork and ease in working together that truly carried them to victory on Nuke. After a rough loss on Dust 2, NAVI rebounded powerfully, securing wins on the next two maps and ultimately taking home the series triumph.
In the third match, NAVI held an impressive 8-1 lead over MOUZ at the start. By halftime, the score had shifted slightly to 9-3 in favor of NAVI. The remaining rounds were merely a formality as NAVI secured their victory. Throughout the second half, MOUZ could only manage to win two rounds.
NAVI and G2’s journey so far
At the beginning of NAVI’s adventure in Riyadh, they secured a 2-0 triumph against FURIA esports, granting them an immediate passage into the Playoffs. In the Playoffs, their initial test came from Faze Clan. After managing to overcome this hurdle, they encountered MOUZ in the semifinals. On the other hand, G2 experienced a smoother route to the Playoffs following their victory against The MongolZ during the preliminary stage, paving the way for them to advance all the way to the Grand Finals.
At the global Esports Cup, top-tier Counter-Strike teams gathered from around the world. With a prize fund of one million dollars, this tournament unfolded at Riyadh City’s Boulevard. The hosting nation is planning to organize the Olympics there in 2025. By initiating an annual esports event, they aim to boost global engagement and establish a structured framework for this growing field.
At present, esports competitions take place globally, with distinct championships for each game. However, when people outside the gaming industry imagine esports, they usually view it as a unified whole – an objective that Saudi Arabia’s ambition to stage the Olympics represents in the not too distant future.
