National Television Awards 2024: Ashley James puts on a busty display in a dramatic sheer sequinned gown as she poses on the red carpet
As a longtime viewer and critic of British television, I must say that this year’s National Television Awards (NTAs) lineup is nothing short of extraordinary! With so many talented individuals and beloved shows vying for recognition, it’s truly a testament to the richness and diversity of our TV landscape.
She’s never shied away from stunning with her looks.
At the 2024 National Television Awards held at London’s O2 Arena on Wednesday, Ashley James once more left spectators awestruck in a captivating shimmering sequin dress. She was among a group of renowned celebrities in attendance.
Previously known from “Made In Chelsea,” the 37-year-old individual showcased ample cleavage in a daring see-through dress embellished with sparkling silver beads.
As I proudly strutted along, my form-fitting dress, boasting a long, graceful trail, captivated the crowd, its see-through skirt adding an extra dash of excitement that sent hearts fluttering.
The mother of two let down her golden locks in soft curls while walking the red carpet alongside other famous figures.
2021’s National Television Awards will occur, as customary, at The O2 London located on Peninsula Square, and the event will air live starting from 8 pm on ITV.
The NTAs have been at the O2 every year since 2010, with the exception of the rescheduled 2022 bash in Wembley.
Comedian Joel Dommett will host the awards ceremony for the fourth time.
For the first time this year, Jungle King Sam Thompson and his companion Pete Wicks are set to host from the red carpet.
There have been whispers that Holly Willoughby is set to reappear on British television, joining Joel’s presenting crew.
Previously known as the host of This Morning for 14 years until her departure in October, the 43-year-old woman appears poised to reconnect with her former on-screen colleagues from the daytime program.
After it was discovered that Gavin Plumb, a former security guard, had concocted a plan to kidnap and kill her, she subsequently left (or departed). Now, Plumb is serving a prison sentence for his criminal plot.
It’s quite surprising that the successors of Holly on “This Morning,” Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, were not nominated in the Best TV Presenter category at the National Television Awards.
Though the program is nominated in the Daytime category, Cat, age 47, and Ben, age 49, narrowly failed to win – even though they were brought onto the show by ITV executives back in March following the departure of Holly and Phillip Schofield from the program.
In an exciting turn of events, the much-loved co-host, Alison Hammond (age 49), has been nominated again for the Best TV Presenter category, effectively kicking others out of contention due to her repeated recognition.
Last year, This Morning missed out on the Best Daytime TV award for the first time in 12 years.
I find myself in competition alongside Bradley Walsh, Claudia Winkleman, Stacey Solomon, and the dynamic duo Ant and Dec in the Television Presenter category. These esteemed individuals have held the title for an impressive 22 years running.
In other events, Michelle Keegan achieved a remarkable feat at the award shows, as she was nominated for three awards, among which was a recognition for Best Drama Performance in her hit series, Fool Me Once, setting a new record.
In January, an actress from Coronation Street led the Netflix adaptation of Harlan Coben’s mystery novel.
Michelle’s acting skills have been recognized for her portrayal of grieving military spouse, Maya Stern. In the storyline, Maya believes she sees her late husband, who was killed, on a surveillance camera within her own house.
The series has also received a nomination in the New Drama category, while Brassic – in which Michelle plays Erin Croft – has been nominated for Best Comedy.
The movie “Fool Me Once” became one of Netflix’s largest successes, amassing more than 100 million views, which significantly boosted Michelle’s acting career in the drama genre.
Previously, the actor from the soap opera has received nominations for four National Television Awards. Three of these were for Coronation Street, while one was for BBC’s Our Girl.
In addition to being recognized in the drama performance category, Toby Jones is commended for his portrayal of Sir Alan Bates, a former subpostmaster among over 550 individuals who have taken legal action against the Post Office.
The ITV drama will face tough competition from Netflix hit Baby Reindeer, romantic drama One Day and Fool Me Once and Red Eye for the prize.
In the meantime, Jones will be competing against actress Jessica Gunning, who has been nominated for Best Drama Performance, for her role as Martha Scott in the dark comedy-thriller “Baby Reindeer”. Her character, Martha, pursues comedian Donny Dunn after he offers her a complimentary cup of tea at the pub where he works.
In her category as a television presenter, Claudia Winkleman, who’s also up for an award in another show called The Traitors under the Reality Competition section, will face stiff competition from contenders such as Alison Hammond, Bradley Walsh, Stacey Solomon, and Ant and Dec.
The Geordie Duo have won the award 22 times now, and they’ll be chasing their record 23rd victory.
In addition to potentially winning the Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award, Saturday Night Takeaway is in competition with other shows like I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, The Graham Norton Show, Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, and The Masked Singer. This suggests that they have multiple shows in the running for this award.
In the Reality Competition Category, The Traitors joins shows like The Apprentice, Celebrity Big Brother, Love Island, and Race Across The World.
In other categories under the Serial Drama Performance, Peter Ash from Coronation Street is nominated for portraying Paul Foreman, a character who fought a heart-wrenching struggle against Motor Neurone Disease.
He is set to compete with Angela Wynter from EastEnders, David Neilson from Coronation Street, Diane Parish also from EastEnders, and Eden Taylor-Draper who appears on Emmerdale.
I’m thrilled to share that I’ve found myself among esteemed company in the Authored Documentary category at the NTAs. This is due to my collaborative work with David Beckham and Robbie Williams on our Netflix docuseries. Additionally, actress Rose Ayling-Ellis has also been nominated for her insightful documentary about the deaf community, while comedian Rhod Gilbert’s work, focusing on his cancer treatment, is also recognized in this category. It’s truly an honor to be part of such a diverse and impactful group.
As a devoted follower, I find myself eagerly anticipating the upcoming shows, as they will directly compete with Kate Garraway, who has been honored with a third nomination in the Authored Documentary category for “Derek’s Story.” This poignant documentary chronicles the last year of her late husband’s life, culminating in his passing in January.
Due to a higher number of skilled professionals showcasing their expertise on television these days, the National Television Awards (NTA) has decided to bring back the “Expert” award category.
This year, popular judge Anton Du Beke is nominated for an award as the celebrity dance competition marks its 20-year milestone – his three other judges have also been preliminarily considered for the same recognition.
It seems that the dance performance is now moving past a series of controversies that have been surrounding it in the last few months.
As a devoted admirer, I found myself taken aback by the unexpected turmoil that has disrupted the upcoming 20th series. The allegations of abusive conduct levied against professional dancers Graziano Di Prima and Giovanni Pernice, particularly by their celebrity partners, have caused quite a stir. It’s reported that a decision on an investigation into Giovanni’s case is imminent, expected to be announced in the coming days.
Despite initial worries that the new series might struggle due to recent controversies, it seems that Strictly Come Dancing is starting to move past its scandals.
The show has been nominated in the Talent Show category and Anton received an Expert nod.
