Nathan Buckley’s ex Brodie Ryan raises eyebrows with comments about the struggles of being a WAG following couple’s split: ‘Harder than a CEO’

Nathan Buckley’s former partner, Brodie Ryan, has sparked some surprise with her comment that the role of a WAG (Wife or Girlfriend of a professional athlete) can be more challenging than holding the position of a CEO (Chief Executive Officer).

The former AFL player’s partner, who parted ways with him earlier in the year following a three-year relationship, recently shared her experiences of waiting on the football field during an interview on the Smile: The Makeover Scoop podcast.

‘At times, I find it seems more challenging to fulfill the roles of a stay-at-home mom who manages a household, supports an AFL footballer, and juggle daily responsibilities compared to being the CEO of a company.’

She continued to extol the hardworking ladies standing beside sports celebrities, often eclipsed by their significant others’ achievements.

As a respectful admirer, I truly appreciate all the women who tirelessly shoulder the challenging responsibilities at home. They strive to maintain a harmonious household, attend to their partners’ needs, ensure the day runs smoothly, and manage the domestic chaos, all while prioritizing their own wellbeing and self-care. It’s an incredible balancing act they perform so gracefully.

Observing these women accomplish their tasks and gracefully walk the red carpet with smiles, as if the past year was effortless for them… Truly, I tip my hat to them; they each excel in their unique areas.

Brodie and Collingwood great Nathan split earlier this year.

In May, it was disclosed that the brunette would be leaving her Melbourne residence, a property she co-owned with Nathan after their separation.

In a heartfelt farewell on Instagram, I bid adieu to the charming coastal neighborhood of Elwood, where I’ve savored countless moments – like the one captured in this post, savoring a glass of wine at our favorite local tavern.

Bidding farewell to a cherished chapter at Elwood’s small, beloved community – it’s hard to let go,” she wrote in her post.

Last year in June, both Brodie and Nathan became co-owners of a popular suburban property they now call home.

Her post came just hours after Brodie announced the pair had decided to part ways.

‘To the followers of the “Brodes and Bucks” journey,’ she began.

‘After much reflection and consideration, Nath and I have decided to part ways,’ she continued.

I appreciate your thoughtful messages and compassion during these tough months. Your kindness and understanding are greatly appreciated.

This wasn’t a hasty choice; rather, it was carefully considered. We appreciate every moment we spent together, the memories we built, and the encouragement we gave to one another, as well as the backing you provided us throughout this journey.

Even though we’re no longer romantic partners, I will continue to hold Nathan in high regard due to the friendship we fostered about three to four years back. I have a deep affection for him, his sons, and our cherished pet, Tank.

Brodie expressed gratitude for your patience, understanding, and kindness throughout the last few months, as well as during this transitional phase.

As I embark on a fresh phase in my life’s adventure, I humbly request some privacy during this transition. Your unwavering support throughout our shared journey has been truly invaluable, and I am deeply grateful for your presence every step of the way. With utmost respect and heartfelt appreciation, I remain. – Brodie
