Natalie Dormer refuses to promote her new ITV drama in which she plays Sarah Ferguson – because she’s so appalled with the duchess’s links to Jeffrey Epstein

Natalie Dormer, the actress, has decided not to participate in any publicity for the upcoming ITV drama ‘The Lady,’ where she portrays the Duchess of York. She’s also donating her salary to charity because she is deeply disturbed by the Duchess of York’s connection to Jeffrey Epstein, a financier convicted of sex offenses involving children.

But I can reveal that there’s no question of the project being shelved by the network.

According to a source, Millie Dormer isn’t the main character. That role belongs to Mia McKenna Bruce, who portrays Jane Andrews – a former dresser for Sarah Ferguson who was convicted of murdering her boyfriend, Thomas Cressman.

Left Bank Pictures, the company behind The Crown, filmed the series this spring, and it’s still scheduled to air on ITV next year.

The makers are in touch with the family of Cressman, who were initially critical of the idea.

People are puzzled by Natalie Dormer’s decision to get involved, as Fergie’s connections to Epstein were already well-known.

It was obvious from the start, anyone could have figured it out with a quick Google search. But apparently, that didn’t happen.

Dormer, age 43, revealed this information after an enthusiastic email from Fergie to Epstein surfaced. In the email, Fergie referred to Epstein as her ‘best friend’ and appeared to regret previously distancing herself from him in public.

The actress, known for her role in Game of Thrones, has decided not to promote the project she recently finished. She explained that she’s learned new things about Sarah Ferguson’s actions that she finds unacceptable and go against her own beliefs.

As promised, I’ve given my entire payment from this project to support children’s wellbeing. The money has been donated to NAPAC, the National Association for People Abused in Childhood, and the Centre of Expertise on Child Sexual Abuse.

I still can’t believe it. Thomas Cressman, that beautiful man… Jane Andrews just attacked him in his sleep! She actually *beat* him with a cricket bat, can you imagine? And then… then she stabbed him. It happened back in 2000, and honestly, it feels like yesterday. It’s just… horrifying. I’ve followed the case ever since, and it still breaks my heart thinking about it.

The couple are understood to have argued over his unwillingness to marry her.

At her trial, Andrews repeatedly lied in court, saying that he had been violent towards her.

The lead investigator, Jim Dickie, stated that the woman not only killed him, but also tried to destroy his character after his death. She received a life sentence but was released in 2015.

She was sent back to prison in 2018 after her ex-boyfriend accused her of harassment, but she was released again the next year.

Rick Cressman, Thomas’ brother, was initially critical of the drama.

He said last year: ‘It feels that Tommy can never rest in peace.

He expressed strong disapproval of ITV’s decision to create a drama based on the events, arguing it allows the filmmakers to portray things inaccurately and disrespectfully. He believes this is a violation of his family’s privacy and a harmful misrepresentation of the truth.

Hotel owner Mr. Cressman believes the four-part TV drama, called ‘The Lady,’ is a blatant attempt to make money from the tragic death of his brother. His brother was murdered by Andrews at their home in Fulham, West London.

Sian McWilliams, the producer of the Left Bank production, stated that the series skillfully examines the sad events and asks viewers to consider: who truly was Jane Andrews?

Director Lee Haven Jones explains that the series won’t excuse Jane Andrews’ actions – she committed a serious crime, and that’s the central fact. The show will explore the story of a complicated person, aiming to understand her motivations and behavior, like any good drama. While the series will offer insight into Jane Andrews, it will strive for fairness rather than pity.
