NASCAR: Why no more races for another full week?

NASCAR: Why no more races for another full week?

As a die-hard NASCAR fan with over two decades of cheering from the stands and countless hours spent analyzing race stats, I can’t help but feel a twinge of sadness during this Olympic break. The roar of engines, the thrill of competition, and the adrenaline rush that comes with every lap – it’s all missing from my weekends.

Last weekend, there were no NASCAR races, following a week after both the Cup Series and Xfinity Series held their races on the oval at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the first time since 2020, and the Truck Series competed at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park.

As a long-time sports enthusiast who has followed various national series throughout my life, I am looking forward to the upcoming break in their schedules. This is because NBC will be airing coverage of the Summer Olympics in Paris, France, which I have always found to be an exciting and inspiring event. Having watched previous Olympic Games, I can attest that they bring together athletes from all over the world, showcasing their talents and determination on a global stage. The energy and camaraderie among the competitors is something that truly resonates with me, and I am eager to witness it once again this year.

In the current broadcast lineup, both the Cup Series and Xfinity Series are being aired, with NBC taking charge. From mid-June up until the end of the season, these races are either live on NBC or USA Network, which has taken over from NBC Sports Network since 2021.

truck races are still aired on Fox, Fox Sports 1, or Fox Sports 2, however, because the race weekend locations often overlap with those of the other two major series, it seemed unnecessary for the Truck Series to take place during the past two weekends.

The next two races on the 2024 NASCAR schedule are scheduled to take place next weekend at Richmond Raceway.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that the Truck Series race, specifically the Clean Harbors 250, has been scheduled for the night of Saturday, August 10. This exhilarating event will unfold at the Richmond, Virginia oval, a four-turn track measuring 0.75 miles (approximately 1.207 kilometers). The action will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1, with coverage starting at 7:30 p.m. ET. Can’t wait to tune in!

On the night of August 11th (Sunday), the track will stage a NASCAR Cup Series event, known as the Cook Out 400. Remarkably, Richmond will mark the first track in the 2024 schedule to host two NASCAR Cup Series races, with another one held in late March earlier this year. The live telecast of the race starts on USA Network at 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

Next weekend, there will be no Xfinity Series races as they take a three-week break. The series will return on the afternoon of August 17th at Michigan International Speedway, with the Cabo Wabo 250 airing live on USA Network from the oval in Brooklyn, Michigan starting at 3:30 PM Eastern Time.

As an enthusiast, I’d highly recommend embarking on a complimentary journey with FuboTV! This way, you won’t have to miss a single moment of excitement from now until the conclusion of the 2024 NASCAR season. Enjoy the ride!
