NASCAR set for major broadcast change for the rest of 2024

As a seasoned NASCAR enthusiast who has witnessed the evolution of racing broadcasts over the past decades, I must say, this latest move to The CW Network for Xfinity Series coverage is quite an intriguing development. I remember when we had to juggle multiple channels just to catch every race – from ABC, CBS, and TNT, to Fox and ESPN. Now, it seems like we’re going back to basics with a good old-fashioned antenna!

Starting from the 2025 racing season, all Xfinity Series events will air live on The CW Network under the brand name “NASCAR on The CW”. This new media deal, valid for seven years up to 2031, is what we’ll be using throughout this period.

In a similar fashion to the Cup Series schedule, the Xfinity Series schedule is presently divided between Fox and NBC. The events on Fox are spread across both Fox and Fox Sports 1, while those on NBC take place on both NBC and USA Network.

As we move towards The CW Network fully taking over next year, I’ve got some exciting news for fellow gaming enthusiasts like me! The final eight races of the 2024 season will be aired on The CW, which means that NBC’s stint wrapped up this past weekend at Watkins Glen International. So grab your controllers and get ready to tune in to The CW for more racing action!

2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series season to conclude on The CW

These eight races, beginning with the regular season finale at Bristol Motor Speedway on Friday night and extending through all seven playoff events, will continue to be broadcast by NBC Sports. Each event will have its unique production and commentary team, featuring their specific announcers.

It’s said that the shift to The CW Network was made with the intention of allowing fans easy access to the new channel which will broadcast Xfinity Series coverage over the next seven years. This move allows fans to check if they can receive it and decide if they require further arrangements.

It seems that purchasing an antenna could be a possible extra plan, though it might not be exactly what many fans anticipated hearing about in the year 2024.

Don’t forget to catch The CW Network at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time this coming Friday, September 20, as they live-broadcast the Food City 300 from Bristol Motor Speedway. Sign up for FuboTV now (or purchase an antenna) to ensure you don’t miss out on this exciting event!
