NASCAR: Las Vegas playoff race not being shown on USA

As a dedicated NASCAR fan with years of trackside experiences under my belt, I can hardly contain my excitement for this Sunday’s South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway! The race is not only the first of four Championship 4 berths but also marks the third consecutive playoff race on NBC.

2024 NASCAR Cup Series playoff’s semifinals kick off this coming Sunday afternoon at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, starting with the South Point 400.

In this coming Sunday’s 267-lap race at the 1.5-mile Las Vegas Motor Speedway, one of the four spots in the Championship will be on the line.

If the race winner is one of the eight racers still competing for the championship, they will secure their spot in the decisive race at Phoenix Raceway next month.

Las Vegas race not on USA Network

As a gamer, I can’t wait for this weekend! The final two races of the round before the big finale will be broadcast live on NBC, unlike the usual channel, USA Network. Seems like we won’t catch any races on USA until next season though, as all remaining playoff races in 2024 are scheduled to air exclusively on NBC.

The broadcasting schedule for NBC includes the last 10 regular season events and all 10 playoff events, but these aren’t solely on NBC. Instead, some events are also aired on USA Network. This switch happened because USA Network took over from NBC Sports Network, which stopped operations at the end of 2021, and became the secondary channel.

2024’s NASCAR season finale will air this Sunday on NBC, marking the third of six straight playoff races they’re broadcasting. Meanwhile, USA Network showed six regular-season races and the initial four playoff races, while NBC handled four regular-season events.

In the upcoming year, USA Network will continue to broadcast ten NASCAR races. However, NBC’s number of broadcasts will decrease from ten to four. This reduction is due to the recent media rights agreement, which includes not only existing partners Fox and NBC but also Amazon Prime Video and TNT Sports. This seven-year contract, valued at $7.7 billion, marks a significant change in NASCAR’s broadcast landscape.

Las Vegas race information: Date, time, channel

Hendrick Motorsports’ Kyle Larson won at Las Vegas Motor Speedway back in March, and he also won this race last year to lock himself into the Championship 4 for the second time in three years. He is set to open up the round of 8 as the points leader.

Join FuboTV for free this weekend, and catch the live streaming of the South Point 400 from Las Vegas Motor Speedway on NBC, happening this Sunday, October 20th at 2:30 p.m. ET. Don’t forget to tune in!
