NASCAR: How to watch Homestead playoff race (race not on USA)

As a seasoned gamer of NASCAR, I can’t help but feel my heart racing with anticipation as we approach the Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The stakes are high, the competition fierce, and the adrenaline rush is off the charts! With Joey Logano securing his spot in the Championship 4, it’s a nail-biting race to the finish for the remaining seven drivers, including Christopher Bell who currently leads the points.

As we move closer to the final stage of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs, Team Penske’s Joey Logano has secured his spot in the Championship 4 following his triumph at Las Vegas Motor Speedway last Sunday.

In the final round of 8, only two teams are left competing, and there are four spots in the Championship up for grabs. This means that at least one driver will earn a spot based on their accumulated points. Currently, Christopher Bell from Joe Gibbs Racing leads the points race.

However, apart from Logano, the other six title contenders – such as Bell – all have their fate in their hands. They can secure a spot for the final race at Phoenix Raceway if they manage to win either the Homestead-Miami Speedway or Martinsville Speedway events, which take place over the next couple of weeks.

This upcoming weekend, one opportunity among the last two for these seven drivers to team up with Logano will be at the Homestead, Florida oval race track, which has four turns and measures 1.5 miles (2.414 kilometers).

2024’s playoff finale, consisting of the sixth consecutive race, will be broadcasted on NBC, concluding a series that started with four successive races on USA Network, following the initial opening of a four-round, 10-race postseason.

In 2022, USA Network stepped in to broadcast programs when NBC wasn’t on air during their scheduled broadcast time, as NBC Sports Network had ceased operations. To wrap up the regular season, a total of six races were aired on USA Network, while four were shown on NBC.

In the coming year, a new media rights agreement will take place, reducing NBC’s race coverage from 20 events to 14. However, it will still broadcast the entire postseason. Unfortunately for NBC, they will no longer be able to show six out of their original ten races. On the other hand, USA Network will maintain its current 10 races. As of now, it remains undecided which specific races will air on each network.

Only two NASCAR Cup Series races remain in the 2024 schedule following this weekend’s event. The first one is slated for Martinsville Speedway on November 3, where it will finalize the Championship 4 contenders. The season concludes at Phoenix Raceway on November 10, deciding the champion. Both races will be broadcast on NBC.
