NASCAR Cup Series team not returning for Atlanta playoff race
As a seasoned gamer of NASCAR races, I’ve witnessed the rollercoaster ride that is MBM Motorsports’ schedule this year. It’s like they’re playing a game of “Where in the World is Carmel Sandiego,” but with stock cars instead! One week they’re at Daytona, the next they’re not, and then they pop up at Darlington out of nowhere. It’s enough to make your head spin faster than a spin cycle on steroids!
On the previous Sunday evening, MBM Motorsports participated in their 8th event of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season, having skipped the race held at Daytona International Speedway the week before.
In the 2024 season, Timmy Hill, who is one of six drivers for Carl Long’s team to drive the No. 66 Ford this year, competed in his second points race event for the team. This took place during Sunday’s Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington, South Carolina’s four-cornered, oval track that measures approximately 1.366 miles (2.198 kilometers) and has an egg shape.
It appears that the No. 66 Ford will not be competing in next Sunday’s Quaker State 400, which takes place at Atlanta Motor Speedway and is sponsored by Walmart.
For the upcoming 260-lap race on the 1.54-mile (2.478-kilometer) Hampton, Georgia oval, there are two drivers who haven’t qualified under the charter system, and both of them didn’t participate in previous races at Atlanta.
The New York Racing Team plans to enter car number 44 with driver J.J. Yeley, while Live Fast Motorsports prepares to enter car number 78 with B.J. McLeod as its driver.
When will MBM Motorsports return?
As a dedicated racing fan following the thrilling 2024 season, I can’t accurately pinpoint when MBM Motorsports will return to the Cup Series pit, considering the unpredictable adjustments their schedule has undergone so far.
One way to rephrase the given text is: The alterations involve dropping out of the race at Iowa Speedway in June, participating at Richmond Raceway in August despite not originally intending to, skipping Daytona two weeks later after initially planning to participate, and then competing at Darlington this past weekend contrary to the initial plan.
But as of now, they do plan to compete in five playoff races.
As a devoted racing enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that my favorite drivers are set to participate in several upcoming races. First, they’ll be competing in the round of 16 at Bristol Motor Speedway this coming Saturday, September 21. Following that, they’ve got the round of 12 races scheduled for Kansas Speedway on Sunday, September 29. The Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval is next on October 13. After a brief pause, they’ll return to action at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the round of 8 race on October 20. Finally, they’ll be aiming for the championship in the Championship 4 race at Phoenix Raceway on November 10. Buckle up and get ready for an exciting ride!
The team hasn’t announced any drivers for these upcoming races. Besides McLeod and David Starr, five other drivers who drove the No. 66 Ford this season are Chad Finchum, Josh Bilicki, Parker Retzlaff, and two others. However, only Hill and McLeod have made two appearances for the team this year.
As an enthusiastic racing fan, I can’t contain my excitement as USA Network is all set to broadcast the thrilling Quaker State 400 presented by Walmart this coming Sunday, September 8, starting at 3:00 p.m. ET!
