NASCAR: Charlotte Roval race not being broadcast on USA Network

As a long-time NASCAR enthusiast with years of trackside experiences under my belt, I can’t help but feel a rush of adrenaline every time the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval is mentioned. The Roval, a unique blend of oval and road course, always promises an exciting race that keeps viewers on their toes.

This upcoming Sunday afternoon, the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval will be hosting the concluding non-oval race of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season.

For the very first time in Cup Series history, two road course races have been included in this year’s playoff schedule. The initial race took place during the round of 16 at Watkins Glen International, and this upcoming Sunday’s 109-lap Bank of America Roval 400 on the 17-turn, 2.28-mile (3.669-kilometer) track in Concord, North Carolina will conclude the round of 12.

This competition marks the second of a consecutive six races that will air on NBC, concluding the final stretch of the four-round, 10-race playoffs.

Charlotte Roval race on NBC, not USA Network

This year, NBC’s broadcast plan includes 20 racing events. Out of these, some were aired on NBC, while the rest were shown on USA Network. Notably, USA Network took over from NBC Sports Network as the secondary network within NBCUniversal’s schedule, following the closure of NBC Sports Network at the end of 2021.

10 races per channel were scheduled for the entire season. Two weekends ago, USA Network broadcasted its last and 10th race of the season at Kansas Speedway. The upcoming six races on NBC starting this past Sunday at Talladega Superspeedway mark the end of the season after the playoffs began with four consecutive races airing on USA Network.

Following the upcoming weekend, the final races of the 2024 season will take place at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Homestead-Miami Speedway, Martinsville Speedway, and Phoenix Raceway.

When is the next race on USA Network?

The upcoming broadcast lineup for next year, featuring Amazon Prime Video and TNT Sports as part of a fresh seven-year media rights contract, is scheduled to kick off with Fox and wrap up with NBC.

As a gamer, I’ve noticed that NBC will only broadcast 4 F1 races this season, down from the usual 20. The remaining 10 races were previously split between NBC and USA Network, but it seems like only USA Network will be showing all 10 races this time around.

As a devoted sports enthusiast, I eagerly anticipate NBC’s kickoff for the 2025 season, commencing with the exhilarating race at Iowa Speedway in August. However, the specific races and their designated channels are yet to be determined.
