NASCAR Awards ceremony sees rare shift, third time in 43 years

As a seasoned NASCAR enthusiast with decades of watching paint-scraping races under my belt, I must say the annual NASCAR Awards moving to Charlotte feels like coming home. After all, it’s where many of our heroes and legends reside, not just on the track but in the Hall of Fame too. The change in venue is a refreshing twist, and while I’m bummed about missing the Music City vibes, I’m ready to soak up the NASCAR-infused energy that Charlotte will undoubtedly bring.

This year’s NASCAR Awards ceremony, which usually celebrates the best performers from the Cup Series, Xfinity Series, and Truck Series at the end of the season, won’t be held in its traditional location towards the end of this month.

In 2019, the location of the event changed from Las Vegas, Nevada, where it had been hosted since 2009, to Nashville, Tennessee. However, after four years, the ceremony and Champion’s Week were called off in 2020 due to pandemic-related limitations. Now, following another change, the celebration has once again found a new venue.

For the very first time, the event will take place at the residence of numerous NASCAR drivers, teams, and the Hall of Fame: Charlotte, North Carolina. This move signifies only the third change in location since its inception in New York City, New York, back in 1981.

As a gamer, I’m pumped to let you know that the big event is set for the Charlotte Convention Center on the Friday evening of November 22. This get-together comes just under two weeks after the season came to a close at Phoenix Raceway. The championship races for the Truck Series, Xfinity Series, and Cup Series all took place this past weekend at the four-turn, 1.022-mile (1.645-kilometer) oval in Avondale, Arizona. Can’t wait to be there!

Tune in to The CW Network two days from now, starting at 3:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, November 24 for the live ceremony. Give FuboTV a try and don’t miss out on this exciting event!

Alongside this event, NASCAR will also be celebrating the NASCAR Regional Series and NASCAR International Series.

These festivities are designed to pay tribute to the elite performers and shining luminaries across the ARCA Menards Series (including its East and West divisions), NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series, NASCAR Brasil Sprint Race, NASCAR Canada Series, NASCAR Mexico Series, and NASCAR Whelen Euro Series.
