As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but rave about the electrifying duo, Naomi Watts and her radiant daughter Kai Schreiber, who are gracing the stage as dazzling hosts of an extravagant fundraiser for the trans community in the heart of New York City.

On Thursday evening, the 56-year-old Australian actress of British descent and her 16-year-old daughter donned identical golden outfits at the packed Mother-Daughter Holy Spirit event.

Naomi beamed with pride, draping an arm around Kai’s midriff, showcasing their striking resemblance to the photographers.

They both donned similar bold makeup, featuring bronzed cheekbones, thick eyeliner, deep plum lips, and let their golden hair cascade freely.

Naomi completed her ensemble with a pair of sleek black leather pants and a tailored jacket, whereas Kai accessorized with shimmering gold sequins as her main statement piece.

On her latest Stories post, Naomi showcased the bustling audience at One for One – an innovative private venue in Midtown East designed to foster collaboration among artists and cultural influencers.

The Trans Justice Funding Project is an initiative launched in 2012, driven by the community, that aims to financially support grassroots organizations dedicated to trans justice, which are led and served by trans individuals within the United States.

Tickets for the event were priced at US$30 for trans people and US$65 for allies. 

At the event, Naomi portrayed the role of an Instagram mom by capturing a heartwarming moment with Kai snuggling close to Hari Nef, a publicly transgender model and actress, in a photograph.

Following the sharing of previously unseen images of her children, Kai and 17-year-old Sasha, on Mother’s Day this past week, a family outing ensued for Mulholland Drive star.

‘My heart is so full. Thank you Sasha and Kai for giving me motherhood,’ she said.

In the year 2025, Kai publicly identified as a transgender individual via an Instagram post. This announcement followed their successful debut walk for Valentino during the Paris Fashion Week in March.

At The Glasshouse, Kai was supported by her dad, actor Liev Schreiber, during the Ali Forney Center’s A Place at the Table gala as well.

In the heart of New York City, there’s a charitable organization named the Ali Forney Center. This center offers refuge and medical care to young individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community who are struggling with homelessness.

‘This isn’t just about representing the trans community,’ he said. 

‘These individuals face rejection. They endure the most unforgiving aspects of human behavior that we have to give, and tragically, some of them do not make it through.’

Schreiber noted, ‘It’s important to remember this point as we prepare to step out, dress up, and make ourselves presentable for public view.’

‘That what we’re doing is actually raising money for a community that desperately needs it.’

‘Kai is embracing her space in the trans community like never before,’ Liev said. 

Kai truly stands strong, as noted. It’s crucial for her to express, “I identify as trans,” and “Take notice of who I am.
