Patrick Dempsey was also spotted at the 2025 event on Saturday.
In recent times, the Monaco Grand Prix has frequently attracted big-name celebrities such as Florence Pugh, Tom Holland, and Anya Taylor Joy.
Despite being recognized primarily for his role on Grey’s Anatomy as Derek Shepherd, this actor has a deeper understanding of Formula One and racing than many other celebrities.
The individual, who is 59 years old, has participated in several long-distance races such as the iconic Le Mans, the 24 Hours of Sebring, and the Six Hours of Fuji from the FIA World Endurance Championship. In these events, he managed to secure a victory.
Patrick, often referred to as McDreamy, shared with Oracle Time that his affection for racing has been present ever since he was just a young lad.
‘My dad was a big fan of it, so I grew up watching car racing.’
In the early 2000s, the charismatic performer embarked on a career in racing, gradually climbing the ranks and cultivating a passion for long-distance races.
On Good Morning America, Patrick expressed that his part in the 2023 movie Ferrari was the most remarkable job he’s experienced throughout his entire career.
As a lifestyle aficionado, I found myself immersed in the captivating landscape of Italy, where I had the privilege to drive exquisite automobiles and collaborate with renowned director Michael Mann on a cinematic masterpiece. The culinary delights were simply unparalleled, and on weekends, I delighted in exploring the countryside on my bike. This extraordinary journey was an unforgettable adventure, graced by the presence of talented actors who added to its luster.
Among the notable performers, you’ll find Adam Driver playing the role of Enzo Ferrari, a racing driver who became an entrepreneur, and Shailene Woodley as Lina Lardi, his romantic interest. Patrick takes on the character of Piero Taruffi, another racer.

For many years, the experienced race car driver, with over a decade behind the wheel professionally, was unwittingly honing his skills for the upcoming project.
He shared that his greatest source of pride is found among the list of credits, where it’s noted that he was one of the stunt drivers.
The stunt coordinator contacted me quite early and asked, “Would you be up for handling all the driving?” To which I replied, “Definitely!
He mentioned that those attending the movie for an exciting race experience would indeed find it, yet they’d also be treated to a compelling human tale.
Apart from acting, he additionally transformed his graying hair into a brilliant platinum tone to effectively depict the legendary racer affectionately called ‘the white-haired fox.’
He explained, “It required approximately a week to perfect the color. Initially, it turned out yellow, but it wasn’t effective. Then, surprisingly, I discovered that you could actually scorch your scalp, which was something I hadn’t anticipated before.
As an ardent admirer, let me recount my experience: “Towards the final stretch of filming, I pushed my hair to its limits and ended up with a ‘chemical cut.’ This meant my hair began shedding and falling out. To add to the woe, I had a ‘monk ring’ around the back of my head where I wore my helmet, leaving an odd patch. So, in desperation, my wife took matters into her own hands and shaved off every last strand.
As Red Bull competed in qualifying, the sharp-witted gentleman sported a combination of white slacks and a white ribbed undershirt, layered under a sleek navy blazer featuring white pinstripes that coordinated perfectly.
