As a passionate follower and admirer of Naga Munchetty, I am absolutely thrilled about her new career move and upcoming book, “It’s Probably Nothing: Critical Conversations on the Women’s Health Crisis.” Having gone through her own harrowing journey with Adenomyosis for three decades, her determination to raise awareness and bring change in women’s healthcare is truly inspiring.

The 49-year-old presenter announced on Instagram that she will publish a new book titled “It’s Probably Nothing: Crucial Discussions on the Women’s Health Predicament” next April.

After thirty years of enduring pain, Naga eventually received a diagnosis for adenomyosis, a condition affecting the womb, marking the culmination of her personal and challenging health journey.

Additionally, Naga often narrates accounts from other women, each of whom has encountered different obstacles within the healthcare sector.

She told The Sun: ‘It’s becoming increasingly clear that women, and those who love women, need to know how to fight for their health and arm themselves with the right tools to do that effectively.

‘I’m passionate about writing a book that can help women. It’s time our health is taken seriously.’

As a fervent admirer, allow me to express my ardor for the film “IT’S PROBABLY NOTHING.” This captivating production delves into the intricate challenges that women confront in the realm of healthcare, ranging from being believed and diagnosed, all the way through to receiving effective treatment.

In the text, I recount my personal stories alongside numerous others’, ensuring to consult physicians and specialists throughout the process.

The book is set to be released in hardback, e-book and audiobook form on April 24, 2025.

Last year, Naga revealed how her crippling womb disorder was dismissed by medics for three decades.

At certain instances, the speaker shared that the pain was so intense it made her scream in misery, becoming unaware due to the severity of the discomfort, and ultimately forced her to summon an ambulance as there were no other alternatives.

She said: I started my period at 15. It would last for 11 or 12 days.

Approximately eight to nine of those were extremely hefty. On the initial day, I’d feel nauseous and fainted one or two times throughout the period. Mostly, I was clinging to the toilet.

“I’d still attend school, continue going to work, and whenever I visit the doctor, they assure me everything is as expected.

She mentioned that the doctors advised her to simply endure and stated that such experiences are common, as everyone goes through similar ordeals.

She pointed out that this phenomenon was particularly common among doctors, both male and those who had not personally experienced menstruation or menstrual pain.

She admitted that for her job, she often skipped sleeping, setting an alarm for 2 am to swap towels and use a particularly heavy menstrual product. This has strained her personal relationships, but thankfully, her partners have been understanding.

‘My adenomyosis wasn’t diagnosed until 47.’

In many cases, adenomyosis is identified in women beyond their forties, but it’s not uncommon for the condition to affect younger women as well. Frequently, this condition remains undetected until regular check-ups, which means that a significant number of women unknowingly carry the condition.

In adenomyosis, the inner layer of the uterus (the endometrium) grows into the thick outer muscle layer (myometrium) of the uterus itself.

During each menstrual cycle, the relocated tissue carries on functioning as usual, thickening, deteriorating, and bleeding. Consequently, this may lead to a swollen uterus and severe, prolonged menstruation.

Initially, Naga shared about her health struggle back in May when she disclosed on her BBC Radio 5 Live program that her spouse had made an emergency call for an ambulance due to one of her episodes.

‘The pain was so terrible I couldn’t move, turn over, sit up.

‘I screamed non-stop for 45 minutes.

‘And then it happened again in the middle of the night and we had to call an ambulance’.
