Nadia Bartel Reveals Her Shocking Breast Cancer Scare and Urges Early Detection
Nadia Bartel has shared details the breast cancer scare she suffered as a young woman.
A woman of 39 years old, currently involved in the Witchery White Shirt initiative aimed at promoting Ovarian Cancer research, reveals that she discovered a lump within herself at the tender age of 18.
‘I had a lump removed out of my chest,’ the former WAG told the Herald Sun on Wednesday.
Initially, it was quite terrifying, but luckily, everything turned out alright. They removed whatever it was and found that it was harmless. Now, I have a small scar in that area, but for about a week or so, it’s not noticeable at all.
‘I was 18 at the time and breast cancer can affect really young women,’ she added.
Bartel says she was worried as she lost her aunt to a rare cervical cancer.
Nadia stated, “My family has experienced many instances of cancer… Her life was cut tragically short, leaving one to ponder why. However, when it comes to ovarian cancer, the warning signs and symptoms often go unnoticed.
As a concerned mother of two, I shared my concerns with The Daily Telegraph following an inconclusive biopsy result. Subsequently, I underwent surgery to have a large growth removed from my body.
She mentioned about her experience with shock: “I have a three-centimeter scar below my nipple, as it was quite substantial.
Initially, I had considered it quite small, given my youth at the time. But upon sharing it with my mother, her concern arose due to our family’s medical background. The fashion designer noted this additional detail.
Even though the lump was discovered to be non-cancerous, Nadia shared that she routinely performs self-examinations and collaborates with a breast cancer organization called Pink Hope.
Previously, Nadia and her sister, Michelle Ring, disclosed that they each underwent the removal of growths on their chests last year.
The duo had been promoting breast cancer awareness using a special pink hair straightener, and it was during this time that they shared their surprising news.
Bartel mentioned that the lumps were harmless, but the situation remained unsettling given the family history of breast cancer.

‘We’ve had a bit of a journey having lumps removed from both of our chests,’ Nadia said.
She mentioned that we were indeed fortunate that they turned out to be harmless, yet those instances when we were uncertain about what was unfolding were quite unsettling.
The fashion designer stressed the importance of check ups.
It appears the lump in my chest was detected some time around when I turned 18. Given our family history, we’ve been extra cautious and that’s likely why you check more often.
Michelle also got candid about her more recent journey.
Ring mentioned it was a bit like having mixed feelings – on one hand, there’s an urge not to be examined, but on the other, there’s a desire to get checked.
She expressed gratitude for her good fortune, as it turned out to be a slow-growing, beneficial tumor. However, it grew rapidly and not long ago, she had it examined and successfully removed.
Nadia maintains a tight bond with Michelle, as they both operate the Melbourne-based clothing brand called Henne together.
