My Kitchen Rules star Colin Fassnidge steps out to enjoy a cup of coffee just a few weeks before he is due in court to face cocaine charges

Chef Colin Fassnidge was seen grabbing coffee in Sydney on Friday before his scheduled court date on January 28th.

On November 8th, the 52-year-old judge from My Kitchen Rules was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of cocaine after being stopped for a routine drug and alcohol check.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always talking about responsible choices, and that includes safe driving. Just the other day, police pulled over a driver – a man named Fassnidge – while he was driving a grey ute on Malabar Road in South Maroubra around 3:20 pm. They were conducting a routine test, and wanted to ensure he was operating the vehicle safely.

The test allegedly returned a positive result for cocaine.

With his court date only a few weeks away, Fassnidge seemed to be occupied with various tasks and errands.

He was spotted enjoying the sunshine in Sydney with a coffee, shielding his face with a hat and sunglasses.

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe what he was wearing! It was so… him. Just a simple grey T-shirt and these adorable blue and white shorts. Seriously, he could wear a potato sack and still look amazing, but this was just perfect. So casual, so effortlessly cool. I can’t even.

He completed the look with a set of sensible flip-flops.

Just days after news broke about his upcoming court appearance, Fassnidge was seen out for a walk in Sydney last month.

This was the first sighting of him since he was accused of driving while under the influence of cocaine.

He tried to avoid being noticed, wearing a cap and sunglasses while taking a walk with his wife, Jane Hyland.

Chef Fassnidge and his future wife, Hyland, first connected in 2000 while working at the well-known EST restaurant in Sydney. He was a chef there, and she was an assistant manager.

They got married on January 8, 2006, in the city where their relationship began, with a view of Watson’s Bay.

Fassnidge and Hyland went on to welcome two daughters into the world—Lily, 16, and Maeve, 14.

Last November in Sydney, Fassnidge was stopped for a drug test and subsequently charged with driving under the influence of cocaine.

Another test reportedly came back positive, and the Irish chef was subsequently charged with driving under the influence of drugs.

Fassnidge will face Waverley Court on January 28.

Daily Mail has reached out to Fassnidge’s representatives for further comment.

Manuel Fassnidge is most famous for being on television. He’s currently a judge on the show My Kitchen Rules, a role he’s held since 2013.

He also co-hosts the popular home and garden show, Better Homes and Gardens, with Clarissa Feildel.

The chef previously hosted Kitchen Nightmares Australia in 2022.
