My Kitchen Rules star Colin Fassnidge is seen for the first time since he was charged with driving under the influence of cocaine as he goes for a walk with his wife in Sydney

This is the first time Colin Fassnidge has been seen publicly since being accused of driving while affected by cocaine.

On November 8th around 3:20 PM, the 52-year-old judge from My Kitchen Rules was pulled over while driving a grey ute on Malabar Road in South Maroubra for a drug and alcohol test.

According to The Daily Telegraph, a drug test administered to Fassnidge by officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command reportedly showed a positive result for cocaine.

On Monday in Sydney, chef John Fassnidge went for a walk with his wife, Jane Hyland, trying to stay out of the spotlight with a cap and sunglasses.

The Irish chef was dressed comfortably for the trip, wearing a black T-shirt, shorts, and white sneakers.

At one point, Fassnidge appeared deep in conversation as he chatted on the phone.

Okay, so here’s the deal. Last month in Sydney, I heard that chef Colin Fassnidge was stopped at a random drug checkpoint. Unfortunately, he ended up testing positive for cocaine, and now he’s facing DUI charges. It’s a really tough situation, and a stark reminder that impaired driving is never okay, no matter what the substance.

Another test reportedly came back positive, and the Irish chef was then charged with driving under the influence of drugs.

Fassnidge will face Waverley Court on January 28.

Daily Mail has reached out to Fassnidge’s representatives for further comment.

Oh my gosh, I remember when Colin Fassnidge first talked about how hard it was to balance running his amazing restaurants with being a dad! It was back in 2016, in an interview with Sunday Style, and it totally broke my heart to hear him talk about the struggle. I’ve been following him ever since, and it just made me admire him even more, honestly.

The father of two, married to Jane since 2006, said it’s challenging to live with a chef because the job is so demanding and can lead to exhaustion.

‘It’s a hard life, it’s the highest divorce, drugs, drink, suicide industry,’ he said.

‘Living with a chef is very hard, it’s not good. We are the worst people in the world.’

Even though Colin acknowledged things aren’t always what they appear, he shared that he and his wife agreed to keep any conflicts or issues contained within the kitchen.

He explained their team had a guideline: leave your work stress at the office. But, he admitted, that doesn’t always work out in practice.

Chef Fassnidge and his future wife, Hyland, first connected in 2000 while working at the well-known EST restaurant in Sydney. He was a chef there, and she was an assistant manager.

They got married on January 8, 2006, in the city where their relationship began, with a view of Watson’s Bay.

Fassnidge and Hyland went on to welcome two daughters into the world—Lily, 16, and Maeve, 14.

Manuel Fassnidge is famous for being on television, and he’s been a judge on My Kitchen Rules since 2013.

He also co-hosts the popular home and garden show, Better Homes and Gardens, with Clarissa Feildel.

The chef previously hosted Kitchen Nightmares Australia in 2022.
