My Kitchen Rules judge Colin Fassnidge becomes embroiled in a feud with Conor McGregor’s fans as he hits out at UFC star after he was found liable for sexual assault
As a seasoned observer of human behavior, I find myself deeply troubled by the events unfolding in Conor McGregor’s life. The allegations against him are grave and demand our attention. However, it is important to remember that everyone deserves the presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
Judge Colin Fassnidge from My Kitchen Rules has found himself at odds with supporters of Conor McGregor, following the latter’s recent loss in a civil sexual assault case.
The celebrity chef, 50, issued a savage swipe on the UFC star’s recent Instagram video where he was seen spruiking a Boxbollen boxing ball.
In the video, at age 36, McGregor can be noticed throwing punches at a compact green ball attached to an elasticated cord fastened around his head.
This workout is known to enhance skills like quick responses, focus, coordination between eyes and hands, and overall physical control.
However, Fassnidge didn’t shy away from his remarks, delivering a sharp critique of fellow Irishman McGregor regarding the outcome of his recent court case.
‘Is it a female ball?’ he asked.
Angry fans in support of McGregor hit back at the chef below his comment.
1 User stated, “He earned more wealth than all his relatives combined,” while another remarked, “The two-time champion behaves as he pleases.” (Informal language: “does whatever he feels like”)
However, many stood by Fassnidge, with one writing, ‘get em chef.’
‘Chef not pulling any punches,’ another added.
Last Friday, it was determined that McGregor needs to compensate the woman who alleged that he sexually assaulted her at a hotel six years prior.
In December 2018, McGregor was allegedly charged with violently assaulting and sexually attacking Nikita Hand, aged 35, at a hotel located in southern Dublin.
Earlier, the MMA fighter stated in court that his encounter with Nikita Ni Laimhin (Ms. Hand), which took place at the Beacon Hotel, was consensual. However, he disputed allegations of inflicting injuries on the plaintiff.
McGregor promised to challenge the verdict in a since-removed social media post, expressing that he was both disheartened and concentrating on his family’s future following the jury’s decision that found him responsible for assaulting Ms. Hand. The court ordered him to pay $398,380.86 as compensation.
He has since issued a fresh statement vowing to appeal his civil sexual assault case defeat but admitted he has made ‘mistakes’.
On the platform that was once known as Twitter, he expressed: “There’s a desire for my voice, I required some space. I acknowledge my errors.
Six years ago, I made a mistake by replying to her messages. I wish I had ended things then and there. I shouldn’t have put myself in a situation that could harm the one I love most in the world. It was entirely my fault.
Despite my deep regrets, everything that transpired that evening was mutually agreed upon by all parties involved. Every witness who was present affirmed this fact under oath. I’ve directed my legal counsel to challenge the verdict in court.
‘He stated emphatically that he can’t retrace his steps but is ready to advance. He expressed profound gratitude towards his family, friends, and global supporters who have stood by him through it all. The gym is calling again, as the world of combat sports beckons!’
In the year 2023, McGregor faced accusations of assaulting a woman on a yacht located in Ibiza, Spain. Similarly, he was implicated for an alleged sexual assault of a woman in a restroom during the NBA Finals held in Miami, Florida, the previous year. However, McGregor has firmly refuted these claims.
Regarding the case with Nikita Hand, it was testified in court over a two-week period that she claimed Conor McGregor sexually assaulted her on December 9, 2018, and another individual named James Lawrence was also alleged to have committed a similar offense.
At the office Christmas party, Ms. Hand reached out to McGregor, whom she already knew, along with her companion.
She mentioned that he took them to a party held in a luxurious suite of a southern Dublin hotel, where they indulged in both drugs and alcohol.
She said McGregor took her a bedroom in the penthouse and sexually assaulted her.
Mr. Hand’s attorney, John Gordon, stated that she was taking antidepressants and under the influence of medication during the alleged incident in question.
The total amount of damages awarded to Ms Hand by the jury was $398,380.86.
Nikita Hand expressed outside the court that she wished her case would serve as a reminder for victims of assault to persist in their pursuit of justice, and demonstrate to her daughter, Freya, that one can assert oneself when faced with such situations, regardless of who the perpetrator is, and justice will eventually prevail.
In the year 2008, when McGregor was only 19, he crossed paths with Devlin in Dublin. Today, they reside together as a family in Las Vegas, along with their kids: Conor Jr., aged seven, Croia Mairead, five, Rian, three, and the youngest, Mack, who is almost one.
